    hot-locked motor

Sounds like you have a biological infestation in your fuel tank, caused by either yeast or bacteria. It will keep on reproducing as long as you keep using that tank without decontamination. That is where than black goo comes from. Get the tank cleaned out, then add some Biobar. Don't reuse...

24-240V Inverter, and RV AC vs 24V native AC

I've seen Thermoking roofmount AC's on Humvees at Yuma Proving Grounds. Tops painted white, too. Big rigs, armor, lots of things there with AC. The heat there is phenomenal. Reason being they test stuff by civilian contractors, and the heat can kill when on a long set of operations

Flip a switch to use gas?

The only one I've ever seen with a "switch" were gasser 5-tons with two tanks. The pump just transferred the gas from one tank to the other. Not the best system... DG

    Options for higher top speed?

If no one stated this, the Mack ENDT-673 is governed at 2100 RPM, whereas the Multifuel is somewhere around 2800. That explains your 30-something speed. The Cummins 250's were usually set @ 2100 as well. Both those engines used the OD 5-speed. The multifuel and big 6602 gassers used the...

Flip a switch to use gas?

It is simple: Lead or other Octane raisers in gasoline retard the flame front upon ignition to stave off knocking, but that makes it harder to ignite on time in a Diesel engine. The only thing I worry about running used oil in my trucks is the residual acid level. I have found that testing my...

the multi-fuel engine on a Deuce

AV gas (>120 RON) is prohibited per the TM, as the high octane anti-knock additives cause rough running as it alters the burn rate under compression. Cheap regular is OK. Conelrad

Flip a switch to use gas?

Nope. His mind is clouded now. Anything other than AV gas is OK, mixing fuels permissible. BTW, if any of you are in an attainment area and have to pass a smog test, running it on straight gas will net you a better score on CO2 and particulates. Conelrad

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

I had changed fuel filters on my M54A1, and she was running a little rough. Probably some crap dislodged in the process. Poured a pint of Superzilla in the tank, and in 5 minutes run time, it smoothed out just fine. Quit smoking so much, too. I was skeptical about this juice, but it does say...

    My Diesel M37

I beefed up the front springs a bit, as the engine and winch add a bit of poundage. I took some leaves from M37 rear springs and interleaved the fronts to get a taller, beefier setup. The lasted many, many miles. I did have to make up longer U-bolts for them. When I went to Goat...

    national club for MVs?

One reason problems of ownership arise is lots of folks think we like to play army with an attitude. This extracts down to the gun ownership thing unfortunately--it equates to them. I've run into this ever since my first MV back in the early 70's. How many of us exibit at gun shows? How many...
