The replacement harness is a chunk of change. Not having a 50+ year old wiring harness will make ownership of your M37 much less pain.
I think it is great to have someone reproduce those wiring harnesses.
All in all, the original 230 engine is not bad. It would be a lot less effort and expense to repair what you have. Engine swaps, while attractive in concept end up being money pits. M37s are not the best choice for a daily driver. I've done it but fuel was cheaper 40 years ago.
It worked out because you rotate the cans until your arms get really tired. The coating flows and gets into all places, it is thin enough to do it. Coating will also plug small leaks. I highly suggest the vinegar soak to get the rust out.
This might be a good time to check brake adjustments. If you adjust the anchor pins, be sure the punch marks on the pins face outboard, away from each other. Read the TM carefully.
KBS coatings worked very well for me. Used it in my BMW motorcycle tank. I suggest pressure washing the inside of the cans first. Follow this up by filling the cans up with vinegar. Allow to set for at least a week. Rinse out then follow the directions for the coating EXACTLY! You will be...
After a long soaking of the piston tops with the penetrating oil of your choice, sometimes pull starting will work. Of course, that brings a new set of difficulties.
