    M37 head gasket

You will be fine. You are not running mogas. Make sure the water distribution tube is in good condition - it's an important part for long service.

    M37 Mystery Problem

Good thought re: fuel pump diaphram. Don't remember if the military pump has a vent hole in the pump that will weep fuel if you have a ruptured diaphragm. My thought is that the truck needs to get run with the hand throttle set to run some above idle until normal operating temperature - maybe an...

    Evaluating a 5-ton for value?

You can use a pump bug sprayer. Cut the end off the wand, use some fuel line, clamps, and a fitting that will screw in the oil pressure sender hole. Use 2 or 3 quarts of oil. Pump up the sprayer and put the pressurized oil in the engine. You won't disturb the ignition timing. Best use a cheap...

    Evaluating a 5-ton for value?

Best prime the oiling system well before cranking that Continental. Bad stuff happens with dry bearings. You will have enough problems with other things.

Hurricane Laura, power outage running on 803a

I don't know how many of those military generators are out there but they must be durable. Very few asking for help considering. Members are wonderful helping with " generator down" requests.

I bet you will be able to repair that rate item. Hope it is just trash in the impeller.

    M37 Mystery Problem

I saw that the truck did start and run once in the interim made me suspect a loss of compression issue. Especially after ignition system was checked. Did you try a spray of starting ether? Like I mentioned, pull the plugs and spray P.B. Blaster or the like in the spark plug holes directed...

    M37 Mystery Problem

When you say "lifter cover" what exactly is that? I have not heard that term before. Looking down on the engine all I see is the head (where the spark plugs screw in). Could you clarify? That is the rectangular cover under the exhaust manifold. The operator's TM has good instructions. Perhaps...

    M37 Mystery Problem

If the starter is spinning the engine well, check the compression. If the compression is poor, pull the lfter cover and observe the valves for proper action as soldier B works the starter. May be as simple as rust on the valve stems after disuse. If that is the problem, spray penetrating oil in...

M1088A1 CAT C7 starter went out in Ann Arbor, MI - already towed to safety.

OH, one misses a manual transmission truck that can be pull started.

    Carbon Tracks in Distributor Cap

You might have a dimensional problem with the rotor. Is it a NOS part or reproduction? If you want, take the cap out of the shell and set it on the distributor. Have soldier B bar over the engine and feel for the rotor scraping. You can file the rotor contact down and clean up tracks in the cap...

Split/locking ring removal from the wheel on the 1952 M211. Inner tube replacement.

those are all good suggestions. I might add to use a high lift farm Jack to break the beads if you don't have that handy tool. Slide the wheel assy. under the front bumper and use the Jack base on the tire and lift saddle under the bumper. Would suggest air the tire split ring facing the...

    Fuel Injection for gasoline engines

I don't think a think a t.b.i. unit would flow enough air but they were on some large v8 s. I have always been impressed by the power the 6602 engine has since i watched two 5 ton tractors move houses. They did the job at just above idle!

    Fuel Injection for gasoline engines

With the appearance of plug and play F.I. kits, has anyone thought about fuel injection for a Reo or Continental 6602? Could be a winner with the gasoline to be had these days. Maybe 8 mpg from a

    Greasing a Deuce

You may also wish to consider what type of grease goes where. I suggest you use lithium type grease with bearings such as u-joints. I use black moly grease in sliding joints such as spring shackles , tie rod ends, and the like. Just my two cents worth. TomC
