engine won't shut off
This might be a long shot but I have seen it happen before. Make sure the fuel return line to the tank is not plugged or kinked. If pressure is building up in the return line it continues to get into the pump and is thus compressed in the injection pump. I had one...
Relay needed?
Question, if you just install the two headlights do you neet to install a relay. Is the wattage draw the same? I need a light and I would like to finally eliminate the high $$ mail order headlight and replace it with something I can get right now when I need it. Thanks
Good discussion, you've got me interested in finding out more about mine.
below is a picture of a number under the hood. What does it signify? Also, where on the doors would the vehicle number be located? Right now there are no numbers but something could be under the paint. Thanks for...
moving the coloumn
What I was thinking of is taking the column on the left and just run it horizontally across the top. My limited knowledge about life is only exceeded by my limited knowledge of computers, but it seems to me that if the computer was not repositioning the column the page (at...
Question
Is it possible to put the information that is along the left side of the screen at the top. Each time I look at a forum that information starts off on the right side then about mid-way then eventually makes its way to the left. Even when your far enough down that the information...
Measurements of spin on oil filters
I posted this message last night but for some reason it didn't last. It might be that the pictures were to large so I'll post two pictures in one post and two in another. I did some measuring and the measurements are the picture file names. Please note...
Something to make th job easier
Here is something I ran across that might make your job a bit easier. The Sears motorcycle jack makes a dandy (cheap too) m35 tranny jack. Good luck with your upgrade. Thanks again Jim for the help with the picture.
Measurements
Hello all, I did some measuring of the spin on base for you. First let me say that the measurements are rough (caliper pictured not exact). Next notice the base is different from a canister base. I looked at a spare engine I had and I think adapter base could be made by...
Let me see if I can get some time this weekend to take a filter off and get you a picture of the base and the filter mount. Check back Saturday or Sunday.
Filter numbers
Wallew, I did some digging and came up with the oil filter number. Its a NAPA 1458. Also, found my axle nut socket. If anyone is interested the number on that (Its a KD Tool) is KD24453.
More pictures
Here are a few more pictures. I am sorry I didn't put them up sooner. I am learning to use the site. A big thank you to Walley for helping resize the photos.
Filters
Yes they are. I got them from NAPA, I think they are a fairly common WIX filter. I painted them, for those who like to look under the hood at truck shows. I think I have an old filter or the number around here somewhere. Give me a day or two and I'll do some rummaging around.
I have had good luck with RAPCO. They don't have a tremendous variety of parts but the things I have ordered have come quickly and been reasonably priced. They have always very pleasant to deal with.
Spin on Filters
The truck came with them. It must have been updated somewhere along the line. Its a 1C engine. It appears to be a bolt on filter adapter (non-aftermarket). If you would like I can take a picture and post it if can figure out how to do it. I just last night got some...
Oil filter leak
I am guessing you have the canister type, I am lucky enough to have spin -ons. When you remove the canister see if the thin rubber seal is split or pinched. If it is it should be replaced. If not remove the seal and see if there is a piece of another seal underneath it...
Speedo gear
Be very careful when changing the speedo drive! When I got my truck the speedo did not work. I found the shaft that drives the adapter was broken in two. I managed to get another one (round shaft with flat drive end) I put it in and was very careful (I thought) to align it up...
