Not in my opinion it channels water back to the cab because the round bead on the outside wont let the water drain straight down the back of the cab I use camper tape on all my trucks and it works great it even comes in black.
I would find a set of those wedges that go between the spring and axle they line your pinion up with the TC so you wont have such a sharp angle to your driveline. I used them in the trucks I bobbed and glad I did I know a guy in wisconsin that can set you up with a set or two..
Use camper tape it works much better than the original seals the bead on the original seal directs rainwater toward the seam instead of away from it making more rust issues.
Nice job I used to do frame up restos too until it got old like a full time job so I started doing deuces to break up the monotony of the work now I just drive them the way they are and enjoy the great work like your self and others do keep it up.

Back in the 70s and 80s you couldnt find a rim without a lock ring back then things required more diligance like checking for low tires before you drove away or you would spin a 25 dollar tube cutting it to ribbons or at the least ripping off the valve stem. The military needed something that...
The fall weather was so nice today I went out and cut a load of firewood for next seasons heating. I was really impressed how much these 101 trailers will haul it was full of red oak and cherry both pretty heavy wood. Went out to unload and let the dogs enjoy the day outside too now to muster up...
Do yourself a favor and replace the springs and bushings holding the king pins tight then get your lift put on I redid mine before putting on the four inch lift and humvee tires and wheels. They sell them on ebay relatively cheap and its a real easy job installing them if your truck has a death...

The engine might have a lot of blowby judging by the oil on the driver side of the front axle watch how much vapor comes from the road draft tube when its running.
