Well another nice day and some new parts for the truck both doors got new weather stripping put both new felt runs in the window channels and new wiper weatherstrip inside the window slot that keeps the rain from pouring into the inside of the door. The replacement felt runs work great no more...
A diesel is made to run on oil period it does not know the difference where it comes from viscosity is what makes the difference . That being said its the particulates such as like westy said carbon which is highly abrasive and will ruin the IP or metal flakes if you filter the particulates out...
Best way to tell is overall condition of the truck look under the hood if everything looks good as new than most likely it has little wear look for wear on the steering wheel or the pad on the brake pedal and the accelerater pedal that will be your best indicator.
Good advice there is a lot of nice trucks just east of you going up for sale not to mention all the nice trucks in the classifieds the main thing is patience which seems a thing of the past in the new gotta-have-it-right-NOW society we live in
Your truck is doing what they call an after glow it cycles the GPs until the sensor tell it that its warm enough I had that on several 1008s I have owned but never a 1009 some might have a different GP control card in them that causes this.
If your buying a deuce or larger call Joel pingeon out of minnesota I use him quite a bit 507-723-6885 any thing smaller use this kid in iowa he went down and got my blazers out of mississippi Justin at 641-451-1624.

Take a flashlight and look into the slot at the bottom of the splash shield that star wheel only ratchets one way. There is a metal tab that you have to lift to ratchet it backwards to allow the shoes to retract you can use two thin screw drivers to accomplish this.
I have one on the driver side that misses at start up and that is the only side that I get smoke from on a cold start so I figure its an injector I can hear it faintly when the engine is running too. I have several 6.2s sitting here to take one from I just need the ambition to get it changed out.
You probably have a bad injector its getting weak popping off to early I have one going in one of my 1009s right now I will have to change it out soon.
I dont have any issues with my neighbors Im in an unincorporated area the neighbor and my wife go round and round about his 10 roosters which never stop crowing but Im OK with it I was raised in farm country. As far as Im concerned they have their thing and I have mine so we get along pretty good.
The LEDs on the front are much brighter than the originals I like them a lot more I got them courtesy of gimp. The steering wheel is stock probably replaced when the truck was over hauled.
Its a work in progress next spring a rhino lined floor and one inch thick insulation for the entire cab monday I am going to order some soor felt and rubber seals to finish them to my liking.
