CA Finally found insurance for our deuce and a half

Safeco (the parent company of Liberty) insures all our 5 cars & trucks, including my '93 Ford F700 box van. It is licensed as an AZ Historic Vehicle. The DMV criteria is 25yrs or older, basically unmodified, and not engaged in a commercial enterprise. It gets used a lot, hauling house...

How to turn up fuel on a M35A2?

Reference emissions, an easy way to pass a Multifuel is just run regular gas in it for the test. Works fine here in the PHX metro. Back to the topic at hand. Conelrad

    Bouncing like a ball.

Beadlocks and O-rings are such a pain. I converted all my 10" wheels to radial tubes in my 14.00R20 AT2A's. Nary a problem with lumpy tires, no leaks. Conelrad

    Replacing pto winch with electric

Put a hydraulic motor on it and then you can have multiple control points. I've done it with two sprockets, a bit of Browning chain, and a piece of flat plate. Tuck the motor under the winch. Drive the pump from either the original PTO or a fan belt. Lots cheaper than either of those...

Curt receiver hitch for the Deuce, 18,000lb/1,800lb

Hardly any truck built today is designed to 'twist' like an M-series tactical. That is why they can handle extreme terrain with a heavy load successfully. A friend of mine is a great heavy-truck mechanic, and he crawled all over my M54, saying "This thing is really flimsy". I replied not...

    Spicer 3053 Transmission?

25 years ago I had a set of Rockwell drop-ins for the duece in 5.20:1 ratio. Long gone, but they do (did) exist. Maybe that is what you have reference road speed/speedo difference. Dennis

    M820, What's the story?

I have one of those van bodies here, used as a parts storage. If someone bought me a similar-sized storeroom, you could take it away. It needs work, but my price is low by comparison. I'm just outside the Phx metro. DG
