I don't know if we can claim it is a negligent big rig driver's fault as we only have a small part of the story . It was posted that a small car came by blowing it's horn and less than 5 seconds later the collision happened . Did the car obstruct the drivers vision ? did the truck lights go out...
I would say a overdrive transmission swap would be best overall , you would still have low end power and better highway speed . Since the 6.2 is lacking power to start with you would gain speed at the top but lose power at the bottom.

I would replace the cables they could be corroded in the middle or damaged from the heat . Make sure the ground to the block is clean including the threads for the bolt . Have you measured the resistance of the cables ?

I'm others will disagree but WMO WATF ect, is hard on the hydraulic heads and injector pump and will shorten the engine life . So you need to figure your long term costs in repairs compared to costs of clean fuel. WVO is a whole different thing it acts as a solvent and any build-up in the fuel...
