I've got a 3 color camo cargo cover for a deuce if anyone's looking for one. It needs some minor repairs, has a few pinholes, a couple of tears about 4", a few scuffs on the rear flap, and the plastic rivet on one coners has pulled out. Also needs new super rope. Really cheap, I've got a new...
Hey thanks for all the good info guys, I think I'm going to make a trip down to Fastenal this afternoon. I'm going to try and save some of the bigger bolts (1/2" and up), but the smaller stuff I think I'll replace. It's just not worth cleaning all the rust and chasing threads on those.
Are you guys replacing broken/stripped bolts with the same sized fine thread bolts, or are you switching to coarse? Fine thread are much harder to find off the shelf, although I do have a Fastenal fairly close. Sometimes they only offer stuff in large quantities, and they close at 5. I assume...
You can easily rig up a PVC frame to put over your soft top and then throw a cheap tarp over with bungees to keep out the weather. Keeping the tarp off of the soft top a few inches will allow for some air circulation. Mice shouldn't be able to get in if everything is closed up, at least in the...
Found this in with a bunch of stuff that came with the truck when I bought it. This doesn't look familiar to me, just wonder if any of you recognize what it is. I'm thinking maybe a part to the cab? It's approximatly 5' long.
Okay now what you CAN do is mount you one of those nice quiet Honda generators in the back, put in some subwoofers and really nice big speakers, and some DJ equipment and you're ready for a mobile party platform. Just start spinning up the Hip Hop and Rap.....
Uh, Okay, maybe we should...
A CD player in a Deuce is going to make as much sense as a laser sight on a sawed-off shot gun. You'd be better off with some nice earphones and an Ipod, you won't be able to hear anything in a Deuce.
The rest sounds doable.
I don't know much about gun rings, but it seems to me that since it has all those bolt holes around the edges, a good shop could fab an adapter to bolt on to the bottom of the ring that would fit the legs. If you could borrow a standard US ring or get good photos and measurements I'm sure...
I think dumptrucks don't need them because almost all of them except single rear axle dumps all have their rearmost axle as far back as can go, acting as a prevention to an underride. 30 years in emergency services and I've never heard of an underride of a dump truck.
And as was said, a car...
Yeah, that bed is bent up worse than it looks in the pic. It could be fixed, but would take some time and tools that I don't have. The tailgate's not too bad. If I could find an A3 bed that would be cool, I'd paint it in the Retro OD green. That's the only thing about an A3 I really like.
Actually, I probably wouldn't be that bad at welding, I just have too many other projects. A new bed wouldn't take but a couple of hours to put on. I'm not a fan of body work, I'm too picky. You should see how long it takes me to get drywall work done. I'm already working on part of the...
Cool thread! I'm restoring mine piece by piece too. I just decided to start at the front bumper and work my way to the back. Although I may jump around as opportunity presents itself.
