    ON BOARD AIR?

I ended up getting 4 of those a couple years back, they were part of a surplus fuel delivery system ( would pressurize a bladder tank IIRC) I just picked up all the extra goodies from Extreme Outback, high temp check valves and high temp hoses etc, they are running a free shipping for anything...

Geared hub drain plug removal advice

You want to have the OEM magnetic plugs, that way you can see any bearing failures coming your way and the magnet extends the bearing life by capturing particles that would normally circulate causing more damage. There is NOTHING wrong with the original plugs, ALL failures are due to piss poor...

Geared hub drain plug removal advice

One problem with a regular easy out is it might be possible to drive it deep enough to damage a gear, those multi-spline extractors do not have that problem and they grip better than a regular easy out. They have a larger head to twist and they do not have the high angular thrust which is what...

    6.5 Motor replacement cost

I did say to negotiate, cash is king right now!! I did pick up a turbo GEP with about 100mi on it for less than 2K but that was like being hit by lightning, would never happen again. I think somewhere between 4-5K considering it has a trans, transfer case and TCM all like new would be a good deal.

Geared hub drain plug removal advice

I have had really good success with this style extractor, there are sizes to fit just about any situation, the ones I use were made by blue point but Hanson and Irwin would also be good choices. Search for Multi-Spline extractor...

    6.5 Motor replacement cost

I do not know if that 1123 has a 3 speed or not but this could be an option, even comes with a TCM and looks absolutely new and it is local to you. I would definitely try some negotiation. https://houston.craigslist.org/pts/7556553937.html

    Restoration of FAV #0010

Well I have a rolling chassis, the suspension, steering and brakes themselves are complete with the exception of the tie rods and of course the shocks will not get installed until it is ready to drive, one of the tie rods has a seized rod end and it looks like they even bent the rod trying to...

    Tie rod end cross reference

IIRC the tie rod ends are the same on all HMMWVs but not the rods themselves. They have the same replacement part number from the M998 through the M1114 according to the parts TM

    Block Heater

It does look like a "standard" (pre 2000) GM plug, the longest pin will be ground...

    Fluid volume during cooler swap?

Basically what is in the coolers, the engine and trans fittings are lower than the cooler so not much will flow out of the lines.

    New M1165 owner with questions

Emission testing is on a state by state basis, in Texas only vehicles belonging to owners in certain counties need to be emission tested. The cutoff is any vehicle over 24 years old and also all motorcycles and all diesel vehicles are exempted.

    Advice Please: Planning 4L80 Conversion

It is not going to tilt forward, I did not use anything when I pulled the trans out of my M998 but if you are doing it on the ground as opposed to on a lift it will not hurt to support the rear of the engine, you will need to let it tilt back to remove the trans. EDIT: when I did it I supported...

Trans Light on when the Run Switch is Off?

OK, well that was not the information I was asking for, I'm sure you will get it figured out.

Trans Light on when the Run Switch is Off?

Both lamp wires are getting 8.7V as measured to ground? EDIT and was that measured with the lamp plugged in?

    Spring replacement, leveling springs

Yes I took it across a CAT scale, 5240 with a full tank of fuel, but I think the Dmax is a lighter engine, it has aluminum heads for one thing. It was pretty much "stripped" no doors or top etc, it did have the B pillar. The Detroit, is also a M998 basic. With X doors, helmet top, custom front...

    Spring replacement, leveling springs

That's 1,200lb more than my M998 2 door and that was with stock wheels and run flats, I wonder where all that weight comes from? of course I have a Dmax and Allison but I would not think there would be much difference there.

Trans Light on when the Run Switch is Off?

That is an interesting thing that seems to happen often. If you look at page 49 of the attached document you will see the trans. check light is only powered when the trans relay is closed, that is when the run switch is on. I have not seen this personally so I have not had the opportunity to...

    Surging, stumble and stall

Unless you have a hole in your tank it can simply be cleaned out if needed.

    Surging, stumble and stall

That is very likely an import tank, there is no nomenclature or part numbers visible

    Surging, stumble and stall

By part number that is a late tank
