Most 240V loads will do OK on 208V. Certain motors will draw more current at that voltage.
I have been running HVAC units designed for 230V on 208V for years with no problems.
Just take two legs & neutral off the genset, and be happy with about 75% of rated output.

Flip 'em. You won't regret it. Run the singles as on the M34.
They did use different wheels all around, with the center pushed in a couple inches. Not too hard to find.
Pushing all those studs out & back in will be a chore. A press is a handy thing. Good excuse to repack your wheel...
For G744 series trucks:
Long story short, one can't stop the winch with the in/out lever out front, only by the driver using the clutch.
When the winch is turning there is so much pressure on the gears you can't move the lever.

The stock engine in the 800- series trucks is a Cummins 250, a naturally aspirated Diesel.
Real tough, not real powerful compared to a turboed sibling (but more poop than a Multifuel).

Disconnect the drive cable and pull the internal wire. It will look like a speedo cable.
Iit has any broken strands or rough spots, replace it. If it looks OK, lube it according to the TM.
If it still bounces, replace the tach head.
