Remember that you do not need any impact wrenches to work on the Deuces..or 5 tons for that matter... A 3/4 socket set and a breaker bar and a piece of pipe will suffice... Impact tools are noisy and require a compressor bigger than the on board one for most jobs... Peace of mind and...
Only three things required.... compression, fuel, and spark.... so have you pulled a plug wire to check for spark? have you pulled the drain plug on your carb bowl to check for fuel? Is your hand primer on the fuel pump in the down position... pump will not function unless it is....is fuel...
Sounds like you removed the oil in and out to the turbo...engine oil...not "fuel" as you described...if turbo is not spinning it can block exhaust...if turbo fan blew on intake side you could have fins in the cylinders.. whoops....
That is the shifter for the sprag...and needs to be rebuilt...o rings fail... at some point you will find yourself with the sprag in reverse and the tranny in first forward and that will not be pretty..
Starters sometimes get a little lazy, but it might be the starter relay under the dash by the STE/ICE connector, they are prone to fail in many modes....they usually stick engaged though... and burn up the starter and drain the batteries.
Put the key on accessory position, or your glow plugs will cycle, they are temperature controlled.. Of course, CUCV do not have a radio... so one must have been added...just wire it for the accy position and you will be fine... for a while...you can wire it direct to the B battery which is not...
GM Parts book says 7/16-20 for the D1 GM 358501 D1 is Blazer and D3 is Pickup Of course when your are studying your manuals in bed each night you could have looked it up yourself. Be sure to use protective clothing and a respirator if you are grinding or shooting CARC as it is poisonous...
The replacement Zenith carbs seem to be a little better at leaning out than the original Holleys. Also remember to advance the timing some to compensate for the improved gasoline octane since 1950... remember they were designed for MoGas.. and you can run a little hotter plug... the 2245s are...
I guess because none of us ever heard of it..as a Model 80. What do you need a filter for? If it is a Cucv... you ask the nice folks at NAPA for one for a 6.2 Diesel K30 Pickup of 1985 vintage..for the element that is... if you need the base etc you have to ask one of the fine dealers here...
Go see Phil Romano in East Boston, he has 7 deuces and a coupla 5 tons and a wrecker and plows snow with them for MA State... Look him up under Philip Romano Inc.... and buy the manuals from Portrayal Press...
As it is a standard 12 V relay, you can get as many as you want at NAPA or other nice place like that... The large terminals do not know what voltage they are getting ... just amperes...and they work fine... Make sure you get a metal can and not the plastic one which was discontinued.
Well, what else do the data plates say regarding the truck... is it really a 0525 ? It would be neat to have the third one built, but I am guessing a little data plate dancing... Check the frame number on the left front behind and near the front of the LF tire... clean the frame good and it...
