Only a two hour drive? You could be there and back before breakfast...with the trailer....as an example, I have a M416A1 with surge brakes... good original, no rust thru, good drains and Mil tires and the lunette for $1000 here in VT Cash Talks...
They were replaced/augmented with a R Model Mack of the same configuration... Runway refueller... Coupla fire departments tried em around here as surplus and with 5000 gallons of water at 8 lbs a gallon... they would simply not go up hill or stop downhill... Three pounds of sausage in a one...
Yup... there are 25 adjustments to make... and the MC and the airpak cannot compensate for them when they all add uop... do your PM....only takes a coupla hours...
First try would, for me, would be to lube the latch assy to let it mover free in the door, then I would switch handles with the other door... two screws...put white lube on the shaft before you put it in...
You have a drainback situation and some air gets in your injector lines and you get rid of it by increasing the fuel flow by throttling up... Some day when you have nothing else to do, shut the engine off warm and watch the transparent lines for a couple of hours and you may see some little...
RE: grease
You can use the cheapest chassis lube you can find.. as the trucks were designed for it... and use GL1 in your gearboxes when specified on your lube order. Your lube order will also tell you the locati;on and number of fittings and which lube to use in them...lube orders are...
RE: truck
If your truck only has a 4 speed tranny you are not dealing with original equipment. Your data plate indicates it is an early M54, built with a Continental 6602 gas engine and a 5 speed Spicer transmission and a two speed transfer case... There is more information available for...
You should install an original air pak...I would assume you do not have the specs on the one you installed and whether or not it has the volume and pressure requirements for your unit. Don't forget the OHT every six months per you lube order...
Ya all go to the nearest Municipal Truck supply... they bid all the hydraulic dump and plow and sander stuff... You will find that they have knowledge on all non-mv applications which can be used to make your MV into a service truck.
A warm engine should not need to be re preheated... Sounds like a fuel delivery problem to me...or the leaky o ring in the fuel pressure switch which has been debated to death on every forum in the universe... Look for a porous fuel line in the frame where the two sections join along the...
RE: Re: RE: Pre- Filter housing
Jeff Symanski was selling them at Aberdeen a coupla years ago... I have one on my M543A2... It is a precleaner... just to keep the big crud out of the real filter...
RE: copy
Of course the best manuals are the original ones such as Ord 9 SNL G742, and TM 9-819 etc... I find the CDs very time consuming and when you are in the middle of a job it is just a pain to use em... The books are on a shelf and you just pull em out and use am dirty hands and all...
It would be called the Federal Supply Classification Groups essentially beginning with 10 which is weapons and thru 84 which is clothing.. I would imagine that there is a TM of TM's somewhere.
RE: Some Squeelin
PM is a wonderful thing... while you are under there...don't forget to drain the water out of your fuel filter...and check the power steering fluid level in the hidden pump....and the DOT 5 in your dual MC...and fill the squirt sauce thingie for the WSW...
