I would think parkerized would be a better candidate. Bluing seems to have a little shine to it. I'm not certain whether or not the HMMWV had parked stuff or not.

My latest CUCV from the GSA side, has that unit on the right installed (Warthog's pic). I did pick up a card slot thingy so if the installed unit fails, I will go back stock. Funny though, I struggle to see where this unit was an add on, looks factory.

I've had good luck with ASP as well.

Could be modified to be a pretty effective golf ball collector on the driving range.
