As Skinny said, it helps with dialing it in. After a while you get a feel for where it works best. I could dial mine back in the rain to assist with rear wheel lockup.
I feel your pain Steve. My iconic 2568 mile piggyback in 2003 got me all the way to Ohio and back without a single incident. It was the last 6" that did me in and caved in the tailgate on the piggybacked cargo truck. Who put that 50' pine tree in my yard?
This bumper has really piqued my interest. http://www.rlcweldfab.com/index.php/store#!/73-87-Front-Winch-Bumper/p/9437373/category=2125922I know it would sacrifice some approach angle but this is not an extreme off road vehicle. I've delayed in contacting them to see if they can make it to...
It's funny you bring this up. Not only did I make it out of there without any plastic "additions", I made it home without any large zip ties in my stuff. I know a brought a bag of a hundred. Odd, I don't recall using any. Need to restock soon. I already loaded an assortment of springs in my junk.
I have an A3 and I would have to agree, just about the best trailer out there. I ditched the HMMWV rolling stock in favor of CUCV stuff to match the truck. Bed height is much more managable and it feels more stable, even with my golf cart in the back. Gotta love that 55" beteen the inner fenders.
The cool thing about these trucks is, for the most part, you can swap sheet metal and other that varying degrees of shading, they match right up. Speddmons truck with my old bed looks like they were always together.
