As for chains on My M101A2 and M116A2 trailers. They both were long enough when hooked up to my 2500HD
I did take a 2' length of chain and two quick links just in case.
A bill of sale will get you home. Make sure the lights work before hitting the road, if nothing else go buy a cheap set of magnetic towing lights (harbor freight, etc). Call you insurance man and tell him that you'll be towing it home, you'll probably find that your insurance automatically...
The trailer is aluminum but the lift ring mounts are steel.
get a piece of 2 x 3 heavy wall long enough to bridge them and weld a 2" receiver under it.
That way the tow / tie down rings are still intact and it will sit lower than the clearance lights under the gate.

You want a narrowed A3 axle with raised center section.
What about taking a narrower A2 axle and raising the center section inside the shock mounts like the A3 is?
As for 8 bolt wheels earlier before 2014 GM wheels are the ones to use.
The later dodge 8 bolt wheels have a deeper backspacing...
