Finally got the M105's unloaded..... learned some things

Nice trailers. Definately add a pintle to the front bumper. It will make your life so much easier! You will not regret it.

    which generator/s for motorhome project?

Do a search. OPCOM did the same thing awhile back to his m109. He has great documentation on mounting a genset, etc. IIRC he used a civy generator due to its smaller size and quietness.

Mep 002a and mep 003a test runs

Mep-002 or 003? Yes they are amazing. You won't find one as well built at the hardware store! Ever notice how the portable gensets at the big box stores are rated? For instance they list a unit as a 5k rating so you think thats the normal operating capacity, when actually its the peak surge...

    Death of a Bumper

Just read this thread. Nice truck James. Good save. What a crazy heavy duty bumper! They never had to worry about a deer taking out a headlight.

    dash lights?

Great, you got the cluster out. Like I said above, be careful and use very light pressure when cleaning the copper path contact points with either a pencil eraser or better yet, wiping with a cleaning solvent. Remove the sockets and clean them too, put in new bulbs, and you should be good to go...

Happiness is a few gallons of 24087

Looks great. Love the vietnam era 24087. The brownish tint will tone down and look like the correct 24087 after the paint cures over a few weeks.

    dash lights?

Both your genlights should be working. The speedo cable comes off easily by 'squeezing or pinching' the clamp that holds it on. The contacts on the light sockets and especially the exposed copper paths on the circuit 'board' will oxidize over time, faster when just sitting long periods. I would...

    Open Plane Intake

The open plane intakes are good for about 20 hp over the civilian intakes. Back 15 years or so ago when that era civilian truck was more abundant, you could get a good price for a GI manifold. Of course, the GI manifolds were harder to get back then too. Man, I'm getting old...

    No Brake lights, horn??

I assume your service/BO switches are positioned correctly since you had one headlight operational. Pull the horn pad up and clean the contacts, then check relay. Check for corrosion and clean the light contacts. If that doesn't work, put in a shot of dielectric grease and put in new bulbs.

    First time bidding on GL

Congats on your win! Nice score for 2 5k gensets plus a trailer. Once you get used to the screaming engine rpm's you'll love them! :D

Lansing Mi area parade, trucks wanted!

Don't think I'll be able to join, Joel. Doesn't look like I'll be at the Linden event this year either. :-(

What's the best step for the M1009?

Smittybuilt used to have a nice step bar that mounted to the frame. Protected the rockers too. Been awhile since I've bought one from them for the blazer but I would think they still make them. It was powder coated black.

I figured out why my Glow plugs are swollen...

Might want to think about putting in a set of Wellman self-limiting glow plugs, then you won't need an extractor tool. Replacing the glow plug relay would be good insurance also.
