Bouncy clunk rub clunk rub rub rub...... Looking for a thread on fixing a noisy cab latch / air suspension

That's not a rave review. Delete the system. Delete the problems. 🤷‍♂️

Perhaps the threads are messed up allowing it to slip out but not back in due to a non-axial force.

Wow. Have not encountered that. Can you disassemble and inspect/post pics of the adjuster? Would like to understand this failure. Some of mine were pretty UGLY with rust and failed seals but it all functioned fine after cleaning, lubing and adjusting. Let me find that pic.......

Dual voltage or 28 volt alternator?

That 260A single voltage unit - will it fit the 100A mounting? I've never run across that unit. Looks like a HMMWV style alternator. Maybe for the Ambo...... Those are drivers side mount so they mount "weird" on an FMTV. The 260A and 300A dual voltage units designed for the FMTV platform...

Bouncy clunk rub clunk rub rub rub...... Looking for a thread on fixing a noisy cab latch / air suspension

Tractors - especially old one's - don't tend to have "suspension" in the normal sense. They tend to have the axles bolted directly to the engine and the drive wheels just sticking out of the transmission and not an actual frame. The suspension is literally the tires. Thus "removing" the engine...

The bags have the bushings inside them...... those must have been used or old stock eh?

Bouncy clunk rub clunk rub rub rub...... Looking for a thread on fixing a noisy cab latch / air suspension

Nice. Yeah do that. Get air ride seats if you must have the truck feel like a water bed. No one will argue that these trucks NEED seats. They don't need the cab air ride. The A1R rides essentially the same. It's tough to notice a difference once you delete the coil springs and put some decent...

Bouncy clunk rub clunk rub rub rub...... Looking for a thread on fixing a noisy cab latch / air suspension

All some of the reasons the Army deleted that stupid system. It doesn't help ride quality enough to even bother with. Too bad it's more work to delete it than to fix it. Shock bushings are shot. They always are. Rest of the noises are adjustments and lube.

    2003 M1083A1 Does C7 replace 3126?

C7 ECM will not run a 3126 (correctly, if at all) either. It would not be better than the 3126 ECM you are using. I wouldn't try that.

    M1078A1 "Pandora" Build | 2024-??? | ***Picture Heavy***

Also not hijacking unrelated threads would be advisable if you want anyone that knows or cares to see your question..... "LoneTree" is spot on......, just over in the corner of the vacant lot OTF'n. 🤷‍♂️

    Yet another alternator question

Back up a minute - what is your issue exactly? The idler and tensioner pulleys don't get replaced - you replace the bearings in them. And when asking VERY loosely related questions it's best to just start your own thread.

    2003 M1083A1 Does C7 replace 3126?

DO NOT DRIVE THAT TRUCK with a 3126 ECM. That engine is likely to be damaged by doing that...... if it even drives which I doubt. I suspect it will be in severe limp mode. Wrong programming for the C7 HEUI system. Different pump, different injectors, different boost control system, etc. C7's...

    Roof Leaks

The gasket is for weapons systems. It's never used on the sheet metal cover. The cover uses one strip of adhesive neoprene foam, and sikaflex. The gasket really is not going. To be helpful here. It's just adding two additional surfaces that need to be sealed and that's just extra points of...

Just won an auction - M1088A1

Put the springs on the shoes, hook one shoe on the backing plate and then use the other shoe to pull the spring like it's a T handle. A pry-bar for additional leverage on the shoe is useful.

    Roof Leaks

That's not stock - someone tried. Stock it is just foam tape and sikaflex around the perimeter so it's easy to peel it off for a weapons system. My HIMARS hatch is sealed VERY well since it's designed for the cab to be pressurized above atmospheric. It uses two rows of foam tape and then an...

Yep. Found much of the same on my truck. Lots of sand (Kuwait, and El-Paso), lots of rust, dried up grease, and bad dust seals. Never serviced - and on a 2008 with 2k miles. Replace the canister diaphragms if you haven't...

Dow 111 is amazing stuff and you should have a tube anyway. But it's not right for this application. This is what I landed on and have used on all my tire installs with zero issues: https://a.co/d/7yVRRgk

Yeah it's not a dead blow. It's steel. It's stuck on the face of the hub and when you need heavy metal to MOVE - dead blow isn't the answer unless it's one of the heavy brass head ones.... I have a Snap-On one like that. But still - drilling hammer. You want to smack the drum outward on the back...
