For the most part, you can explain yourself if you get stopped. Copy of signed receipt from the pickup location and a brief explano of how the gov't works and you will be driving away.
Ageed, not the same trucks. What I did say is family of trucks. When they share frames, some engines, basic axle designs, cabs and covers they are the same family. Almost none of this is shared with the M915/916/920 trucks.
I believe Mr Crawdaddy and I have come to an agreement on his bed so I am now looking at transport options to the GA Rally or parts of FL. The bed is complete as it sits but could likely be chopped down. I only need the sides and about 2" of the floor to be safe. Front is not needed nor is...
I think I have secured a source for what I need. here is a quick glimpse of some of the gearboxes. Transfer case will be cable shifted. The floor pan is going to be a little busy looking.
So, member http://www.steelsoldiers.com/member.php?18545-rustyshakelford and myself found that we are both building CUCV wreckers and thought a thread on what we were doing and comparing notes would be fun. Attached is a pic of what I started with and a pic of the chassis cab rear axle complete...
I don't have anything to add. I see many requests for stuff that has already crashed and burned. The
title of the thread is "
So, what's the one thing you'd change?"
I'm amazed at how many folks can't follow such a simple request. It clearly says one thing.
As far as breaking up the 5...
I need to clarify a little bit. I don't need the racks at all. I am seeking the actual sides of a bed. I am currently looking at some complete trailers at various websites but figured it was worth a try looking into the possibility of someone having a bed with a rusted out floor to chop the...
I am looking into the cost and availability of bedsides from an M101. If you have something that might fit the bill, let me know. These are not to restore a bed but rather for a custom project.
Edit, bed bought in NOLA. Now looking for a ride to South Florida
Sounds like a Holmes 440. For what it's worth, the exact same boom assembly was marketed with an electric winch and was billed as a 220. I'll start us a wrecker thread to follow the builds.
Well familiar with BSF. His bed is a Nomar. Mine is a Holmes 1100 but it won't much resemble one when done. I am converting my truck to the sm465/205 combo to run the hydraulics. I do have a ranger torque splitter for it too.
It's really hard to tell since they all were conversions. Many trucks are a combination of other trucks and although it's shady, don't discount the possibility of a cab change. All M1028s had a helper leaf on top of the spring pack. If it's he truck you are considering does not have that, it...
OK, got it moved into the proper forum. Do you have a volt meter? Need voltage across both batteries with the truck running and with it off. We can go from there!
