    Air Pressure leak

I have an M35A2 and yesterday when I fired it up to take a load of scrap metal to the dump, it never built up more pressure than 60 PSI and the air warning buzzer kept buzzing. When I shut the engine off, I heard a loud hissing under he cab. It stops after about thirty seconds when the air...

    HEADLIGHT QUESTION

Usually when the green inside turn signal indicator is lit when the headlights are turned on, It's a problem with the front turn signal bulb socket on the same side as the green turn singal indicator. It is a problem with the ground wire on the bulb socket and the ground path seems to go light...

    Picture of Towbar hooked up

That Tow Bar is made by IBISTEK and is sold to the general public. It is $1,530.00 plus shipping. This is the latest type with the extension legs that auto lock once they are fully extended.

    Picture of Towbar hooked up

Here is a picture of my tow bar after it's been hooked up. It is the best that I have seen so far. It is only 60 lbs. It fits the Humvee and CUCV shackles. It also allows for a one man installation because of the ability to realease the extension legs from their stowed position and if the...

    HMMWV A2 Project

Hi Ted, Your insulation job looks good, so good in fact that I'm going to copy you! If you don't mind being not Military Original on the underside of your humvee, you can buy from AMG, a boot cover that goes on just after the rubber boot for the shifter and before the assy is attached to the...

anybody know what kind of axles are under this

I looked at one a few years ago at an auction and was suprised to see that the engine, trans and transfer were normal CUCV stuff. 6.2, turbo 400 and 208, but the transfer was clocked so the front output was straight down instead of on the right hand side. It had a special brake master cylinder...

    HMMWV 6.2L vs CUCV M108 6.2L

I don' think you'll have a problem with the parking pall on your CUCV. I think that the Military might have used some sort of severe test and the pall failed. Maybe they loaded three thousand lbs in the bed of the Humvee and then added a loaded M101 trailer and went to a steep ramp at one of the...

    HMMWV 6.2L vs CUCV M108 6.2L

I was told that they left out the parking pall in the transmission, because it wasen't strong enough to hold the vehicle on a steep grade at full GVW.

    HMMWV 6.2L vs CUCV M108 6.2L

The oil pan is different and possibly the oil pick up as well. The intake manifold has the two screws for holding the air duct arranged side to side as opposed to front to rear on the CUCV. Since the engine blocks are the same, all of the CUCV items like pulleys and manifolds and brackets will...

    hmmwv motor upgrade????

Turbo engines will have lower compression pistons and oil cooled pistons. Also When the 6.5 came out in the civi world they went to a serpenting belt system and they have a water pump that is rotated in the opposite direction of a V belt engine. The 6.5's that GEP built and assembled as engine...

Well Ted, you have my vote for the nicest Humvee in private hands.

    M1009 tranny

Don't forget the transmission modulator on the right side of the trans towards the front end of the trans pan. The hose could be cracked or disconnected or maybe the modulator itself is bad. It's easy to change from the outside of the trans and only costs about twenty bucks.

Front Tow Bar Pic & Flicks

The arrangement of the holes at the front end of the frame might be different on your truck. One ton single and dual wheel trucks have the same arrangement as the CUCV trucks, so it is a direct bolt on for those trucks, the others might need some additional hole drilling or an additional...

    Camper shell

If it suits your needs, buy it! That is a heck of a price. It looks well engineered.

Interestig auction on Ebay pertaining to the M1009

I like old advertizements too. Most of those print type ads were airbrushed on a large scale and then downsided for actual use. Check out the too sharp angles on the bumper, top front of the fender, different shape side cargo window, weird mirror adjustment and possibly too much air between the...

    EUC End User Certificate

The time lag for the form 97 is because GL actually pays something for the stuff they sell for the gov and then also share in the sale price too. GL was actually breaking the law in most states by selling enough cars, that they were required to become a car dealer. The form 97 now comes with...
