I think you can make out the my Dodge in the background. It is a 1981 truck. The replacement bed is not bolted in place, that's why the wheel looks too far out, but it's definitly not a long bed. I wish it were though.
I have'nt seen a CUCV Crew Cab built by GM, but I do have one of the Air Force Dodge 4x4 crew cab trucks. It is not an M880 but is a government contract truck with the stick on data plate on the dash. It is blue with no black out lights and is a short bed. I don't think Dodge built long bed 4x4...
On the right front turn signal problem, the socket for that light is no good. It is a problem with the ground terminal inside the socket, so buying a replacement socket from an auto parts store will solve that problem. The wires are a different color on the "Help Products" sockets, but if you...
Hey Ted, the A2's are N/A powered. The Humvees in that foto are M1113's and are turbo powered like your Humvee is and I'd shure like to wander around in that field too. :D
What's clogging things up? Are those black rubber return hoses dissolving on the inside? I haven't heard of any marine 6.5 injectors that weren't for a turbo applicatio and as mentioned, they need an injector pump that operates at a higher pressure. I guess you could install a DB2 for a turbo...
Wow Ted! That serpenting belt setup looks really great. It does a better job around the Alt and PS pump area that my older style setup does. I hope mine works well enough and dosen't throw belts. Do you have the spacers for lifting the body a little higher than a N/A equiped Humvee/Hummer? The...
If you paint it one solid color, the camo pattern may show through in the form of a different tone of color or just different texture. I have had to paint a very heavy coat and even paint a truck two times to make the a solid green color look consistant. Sand color seemed easier as it bounces...
The exhaust manifold to pipe flange has a triangular bolt pattern which is almost arranged with the one bolt hole almost straight back and the two others located on either side towards the front. The inner most part of the flange, the part closest to the oil pan, is 6 1/2" away from the oil pan...
There is a snap ring in the rim of the hub extension that holds the main part of the locking hub assy. Clean the grease off and get a little screw driver and you will find it. Once out the main locking hub part should come out.
A better choice than using a friction fit rubber valve stem assy might possibloy be to use one from a dually pick up. They need a round hole, but install from the inside and use a washer and a nut on the outside hold them in place. The washers are cupped to allow for the rubber part of the stem...
There are two solid type 8 groove serpentine pulleys that I'm aware of. I don't have them in front of me right this second, but one spaces the rear of the belt about 3/4" forward of the alt face. This I call the 200 amp alt 8 groove pulley and is used with the big "S" shaped bracket that holds...
I have an NOS 100 Amp Alt 8 groove serpentine belt pulley. If you don't find one in the boxes of parts, maybe we can trade for something that you have extra that I could use. I aalso sent you a foto of the front of my engine so you could see the belt arrangement. you have a triangular plate near...
Ted, that's a nice project. It looks like whoever you bought it from assembled a lot of good parts. Is that a new engine? It does still have the civi waste gate controller, which is vacuum operated, so you are going to have to find the military unit, which is not listed in the manuals or do like...
I recently turned up the fuel rate when I installed a new injector pump in my M1009. I went 1/6th of a turn and noticed more torque instantly. It needs way less throttle pedal to cruise on the highway now and the torque hole that was a problem while driving below 60 mph on hilly highways is...
GL dosen't like the idea, they just want to make as much money as possible with as little effort as possible. There is an effort by Aviation and electronics buyers of Government surplus items to keep the DOD from deeming just about anything a Demil item and effectivly putting them out of...
There has been too much stuff that should have been demilled or that should have had an EUC being sold and they are just slapping the EUC on anything that looks tactical. Machine gun mounts on E bay don't help things either. I guess those not demilled F14's were the last straw. It just takes...
Rod, If you want the look of a Military vehicle but the drivability of a true civilian vehicle, look into one of the CUCV vheicles, Most specificly the M1009 Blazer. As far as the normally low geared Military vehicles go, the Humvee is the most drivable in the normal world. I think it even beats...
How about cycling any and all electrical switches forty or fifty times to clean up any internal contacts that might be crusty or just check any ground wiring near the radiator support?
