Latley, it's taken just under two weeks for the EUC to be listed on the GL website as approved, after they have recieved it from me and six weeks to get the form 97 from GL, for which the form can't be sent to GL until after the vehicle is removed from their site.
I don't see why this thread is worhtless without a foto.
Bozor 1000, You don't need to remove the front driveshaft to flat tow, if you have the hubs in the free position. I would also suggest that you just check over everything for loose or missing nuts or bolts. Sometimes these vehicles are...
The part that I think you are looking for is called a Pintle Mount. The one in the attached fotos is the latest type. It is stronger than the older stamped and welded unit and also stronger than the first pintle mount that looks very similar to this. The late styld has a hole completely through...
If the stamped metal raceway that the indicator slides in is bent, the indicator can pop out or if the indicator has one of it's tabs broken off it can also pop out. I have fixed the broken hook in the dash cluster housing by heating up a paper clip with a torch and pushing it through a near by...
I have two similar shelters that have a factory rectangular opening up high and front. The opening is reinforced and has rivnuts to mount the A/C unit to. Mine are for use on a Humvee and have hydraulic camper jacks with aluminum plates that bolt to hard points built into the corners of the...
Yes, I have done exactly that. I used bungee cords hooked in the hood under structure to hold it up while I did the final swithceroo of the hydroboost units. a person holding the master cylinder would also work, but you might have to buy them a beer for their efforts.
How old are the rubber hoses in question, Twenty years? If it is those hoses, you will eventually get a leak so just be patient. They might be difficult to change out and you seem to be able to get your truck running doing what you are doing and if the problem is something else, you won't have...
86M1008, attached is a foto of a Hutchinson Bead Lock. If you want a Runflat/Bead Lock then look at the foto in a previous post. The rubber Runflat/Bead Lock has two pieces to the assy.
The Hutchinson Bead Locks are still a work out to install, but are way easier than the rubber runflats. The wheels bolt together as mentioned as an earlier post, but a little care when placing the tire/run flat assy over the wheel is necessary, so the groove in the run flat is in the correct...
That's an interesting letter Elwenil, considering what AMG was saying when they were selling Hummers.
"..... and save for the addition of a few creature comforts, the street legal civilian version called the Hummer, is virtually unaltered."
This statement is taken from one of their...
Blue smoke would be oil, but since is sounds like you haven't actually started the Humvee yet, It can't be that as you need to have it running before blue smoke will show up. Even an engine with good rings and cylinder walls may have a large amount of blow by "blue smoke" if it has been sitting...
find an air intake muffler from a civi 6.2 truck, blazer or surburban and the rubber thing that attaches it to the air cleaner opening. If you keep the batteries in their military positions, you can't use the cold air intake hose for it, but the intake resonance sound is still greatly reduced.
I use the SEM Burgandy paint and it is great! It is totally dry in less than ten minutes and can be installed with no special handeling. Cold winter weather may slow down the drying time. It is somehow totally dry within that time. Really dry door panels will eat up more paint than smooth...
johnfire, Your are right about the three seats. Mine was like that and all three were different, but had matching vinyl upholstry color. The right front was a normal high back seat from a surburban and the rear had two veritcal pads with a space in between on the back that allowed for someone...
