Jim is right. Stator stays on block. Large rare earth magnet that interacts with stator comes off as part of the Fan.
"reinstall the center bolt 1/2" or so from home and push on that....would that make any difference?" Yes, I use the bolt as the pressure point for removal. Believe that is...
Most fans won't give you a "pop". It is a keyed, tapered shaft. Put it under tension and hit the fan with a 2-3 lbs hand sledge around its circumference at the base, not the fins. Progress you saw was likely the puller turning the center bolt. Apply more pressure and repeat the hammer...
The bottomed out length (retracted when disconnected) is the important one. I have one which also needs an assist to get the throttle mechanism to come up. Has to be binding somewhere. One of the senior guys posted a year or so ago that he used a dremel with a grinding stone to elongate the...
Sounds like you found the right piece, but each of these linkages is adjustable. Try adjusting your first "defective linkage" to exactly the length of the one that worked and make sure all is moving as freely within the original linkage as it is within the one you found to be correct. Take...
Okay Ike,
You have me flummoxed. What is the difference between two 2.5s feeding a 240 breaker at 120 each leg of the breaker, and a 5kw on 120/240 feeding the same input to my panel? Do I gain by running on 120 only and creating 240 at the panel breaker?

I'm having no problem with home heating oil here in VA and have not used additives. My 275 is generator only and fuel is 1-2 years old. Certainly wouldn't try that with gasoline and I don't draw off a filter at the bottom of the tank.
Stan,
Have never tried to link to another post on SS, but here goes:

Hope it works. Merry Christmas to you and yours.

I had one 002 that vibrated badly until I put it on casters. Turned out the skid frame was bent or rather slightly twisted. Bad rubber cushions in the engine or genhead mounts can do the same. BTW, I think the 3 ton central AC will take all the 002a can produce.
