I'm sure you guys know you have a TON of parts in your area. Dave Walker for one, if you don't know him I'll give you his contact info. GREAT GUY to deal with!!
I tried taking apart some gauges once. For the trouble that was involved I now just buy new guages. I know, they ain't cheap but was well worth it. I have managed to use plastic polish on some gauges to clean them up pretty good though.
I'll probably drive the M1009. Hopefully the weather stays like it has been and will be nice and cool (well without the rain part). If you've never been there just listen for the sound of a minigun belching and you'll know when you're getting close :)
A guy in our club brought several over from Hawaii a few years back. Can you say R-U-S-T, never saw them personally but heard the horror stories of them.

Definitely pre turbo. Your not as worried about the temperature of the turbo as you are cylinder temperatures. The turbo will take a lot more heat than the pistons will.
Odd, we had 10 acres there and they had no problem giving us farm plates. I'd figure in Canon City it would be even easier. Just goes to show DMV varies from state to state and office to office. Most likely due to the fact that the morons behind the counter don't have a clue.
Boost and pyrometer gauges can be had just about anywhere. Banks has them, ISSPRO, Auto-meter. I have a Banks boost and ISSPRO pyrometer in mine simply because they were laying in the back of the shop, nobody knew why so they found a new home. Boost usually run about $40 and pyrometer usually...
