Historic Vehicle license plates $80 a year. With the historic plates you are exempt from weight fees and having to stop at the truck scales (unless the flag you in). The historic plates in no way exempt you from having a class B cdl. I hear so many people talk about well my buddy is a cop and he...
I think I'm on a help list somewhere already but I am always ready to help an MVer out in an emergency. I got a call a fewmonths back from a friend who rents MVs to the movie industry. They were filming a movie here local and I could have made good money hauling their grip equipment through the...
I like to see vehicles that are "tricked out" with all the accessories. So many times all you see at the shows are just a plain ol' truck. It's neat to see them equipped the way they would have been. There's one of our club members who's jeep is decked out with packs, camo netting, helmets...
He's one of those guys that has to have every single accessory for his wreckers...yes wreckerS. I've actually seen the bars many times but had no clue wat they were at the time, he found his in a wrecking yard. The bracket you won't need unless your truck doesn't have the C under the bed.
I've heard the question so many times, what's that thing that looks like a lifting eye abouve the leaf springs? What's that C shaped loop on the side of the deuce bed for? For the longest time I had no idea. Then a while back a good friend who knows WAY more than I do about the deuces and five...
Does anybody have any of the uprights for the bows, don't care wood or fiberglass and need a few bow corners as well. Have a couple trucks that I need to put tops on.
Well, our county SET team just got approved for this http://armored-cars.net/products/bearcat/bcat-le.htm It should be here in July, can't wait to see it. :hop:
What model trailers were for use with the 5 ton tractors? I'm going to start doing some work to the M52A2 and a nice lowboy would be cool, and a nice tanker would be cool-fill that sucker with water and have on hand in case of fire :jumpin:
The rig was orignally camo, but in poor condition with oil and grease everywhere. After man hours steam cleaning we re-painted it with some gloss army green that a friend gave me, turned out rather cool looking! The original markings underneath were US Navy so we did it up as a Seabee (only...
Thanks guys, I get lots of compliments on that one. The ring mount and winch came off another truck that I sold to Dragonman in Colorado Springs a long time ago. This truck went through a depot overhaul before uncle sold it off.
Okay, here's the latest project I've been working on, definitely a useful tool around the place. It came from a Sheriff's auction, cost was $2,000 and the dept. delivered it (helps to know people). After another $500 it was ready to rock & roll.
I used to have a 1009 that was my daily driver. I'm not a Chevy guy by any means but that was a nice dependable rig and got GREAT fuel mileage.
David Pizzoferatto (Weebee Webbing) just drove his fully restored (and quite nice) M151A2 w/M416 all the way out here to our Tower Park get together...
LOL, okay, guess I'm not the only one. Works pretty good for what it is. Can't believe how long it took me to finally hook it up [:)] I'll get the pics posted tomorrow.
