I know it may not be the cause of the problem, but I am always a fan of making sure basic things with the trucks are adjusted properly. one of those being the valves. It is an in inexpensive PM that can only help your engine last longer. Make sure the air filter is clean also. Blow it out with...
I have some that are rusty on the bottom and completely dry. They have not had fuel in them for years and years. My plan is to get some small pea sized gravel from the side of the road and toss that in there and shake it around. I'll then remove the stones and vacuum it out to see how it looks...
Dave,
Any luck with your injection pump? When you tried to move the injection pump linkage, did you unhook it from the governor arm? Maybe the governor arm is sticky (I suggest a couple drops of oil on the shaft where it goes in the housing can’t hurt). Another thing could be the shutdown...
i hope this does not hijack the thread, but what color OD green did they paint the ammo cans and jerry cans? it seems like a vietnam era color. I like that color a lot and it would be nice to see that color next to the others if you have that shade in your pictures. Thank you for posting this...
i bought mine at Kublo's Surplus. Ken is real good to work with. He has a bunch of trucks to pick from which is nice. last i checked, i think a deuce without a winch is $4200. His number is 570-663-2805.
I had a guy tell me that he knew every nut and bolt of my truck. He said the engine in my deuce was a Detroit and would burn almost anything. I corrected him by saying, no it’s a military designed multifuel engine that was made by Hercules, Continental, and White. All engines were built under...
mine was the same way. it turns out the problem was the linkage was binding on the solenoid. It took some careful bending and filing the hold the linkage goes through to make it fit better. I think this is a common issue with these sets. When I first got mine from GL and brought it home I did...
Will it take any modifications to move the generator back? It seems like on my trailer there are some different holes in the chassis for the different generators. This makes me want to set my MEP-002A on my M200A1 now! If you can get a picture of all the lights on, that would be awesome :beer...
I really have not used my trailer enough to warrant a brake inspection from regular usage. I just want to inspect the brakes to make sure everything is the way it should be so everything is working properly. Who knows how long my trailer sat before I got it and want to make sur everything works...
I have. MEP-002Aand an empty M200A1 also. Did you hsve to drill extra holes in the frame to mount the gen set? I like your idea with the lights a lot!! I would like to do the same exact thing! Good work!
I pulled a sled with my deuce and did the same thing, 2nd gear, low range and it did not work good for me. My next oull i used low range first gear... i did really good and then the sled started digging in and it just ran out of power. I didnt think anything could stop that truck, but i guess a...
I know this is an older thread, but I think my question is best posted in here, thus why I don’t want to start a new thread (keep the information together). What causes the relay valves to fail or otherwise not work like they should? I can understand if they sit a long time and the piston might...
I used Isspro. The only pain with the isspro is it requires a 12 volt source for the "amplifier" for the gauge. I called them up because i noticed they offered a 24 volt unit also, but to convert it, they just sent me a ziner diode (spelling?) that drops the 24 volts down to 12. It seems to work...
I used as much fine thread as i could when i rebuilt my deuce. i put antisieze on some threads and used lock washers. some things i did not want the goopy antisieze on it, so i used a tacky penetrating teflon lube instead. it seems to work good. even if i dont plan on taking it apart again, i...
i drove mine to work this morning. i still have my 1923 Ford Roadster in the back from the Syracuse Nationals car show. It looks pretty good in the back. people are pretty used to seeing it in the parking lot by now. the truck just turned 40,000 miles and 800 hours on the engine last week. i...
