Marriage is the #1 cause of divorce. It would be good to just work hard and get your life back on track. pay your bills and get back up the right way. i know when i crashed my deuce i didnt know what to do. sure i could go get another, but its not the same. you know the army chant about your...
I notice that the ground rods all had threadded ends. Wouldn't one of the rods be pointed only so that one is the one that goes in the ground first so it does not damage the threads? i see they are a little pointed but still have threads. is there one rod that gets put in the ground first? i...
i dont think so. i dont think my paint lines will match up with my cargo cover, so you got me there!
i still need to put the windows in mine and either get new windshield seals or adjust the windshield more. im leaning on new seals. my old cab was pretty water tight.... no reason i cant get...
So do you think that mounting the flasher on the firewall vs. the fender is a better idea? it seems like there is less vibration on the firewall. i mounted mine on the firewall and had no problems yet. I was also thinking i could mount it using the rubber isolaters that are used on the deuce...
oh, i forgot. here is a picture of the things i am seeing down here with our equipment. we have a black looking stuff growing on our paint right by anything that has gas in it. We have experienced this with anything with a vented fuel system, not like anything on our modern cars with a sealed...
It is nice to cut the WMO with something to thin it out. with all respect to you using diesel, i have found kerosene works good for me. i have used diesel too, but it seemed like kerosene was better for me. I think kerosene might be a little thinner than diesel.... not sure. at least with...
Thanks joe. Now there will be 2 nicely painted deuces at rausch creek this fall. How is the paint on your M105A2? We could match there too. And if people ask, no we did not plan on having the same paint job. Haha!
They are good guys to deal with up there. They have a lot of winch trucks at the moment so it would be a lot to choose from. Ken took me for a ride in the M915 he has for sale... that thing sounds awesome :)
Well id first like to addess something about the switches. i almost think they might be military. i only say that because they have 24V stamped on the side of them and they are all grouped together at 5 switches (one unit). i think theere was a manufacturer name on them, but i foget what it was...
The Syracuse Nationals are July 19-22. I am driving my M35A2 to the nationals with my '23 Ford Roadster in the back. After the roadster is out, i will have my swimming pool liner in the back. its usually a hit. ;) anybody else planning on going? How about you Doghead? Bring your M819 and we...
Thank you Clinto. All these nice comments are very nice to hear, they really are. :-P I definately would like to make it to the GA rally someday. I hear it is a good time. I love my deuce, but i dont think i would take that down.... it would be a haul. i have no doubt the truck would make it...
Thanks Mustang! The block was just used as a big spacer. its just a scrap one. It was from a '48 studebaker convertable... flat head 6 cylinder. i forget the displacement, but its small... maybe 80 horsepower or so. WAIT A MINUTE.... the Weasel used a studebaker flathead 6. i bet its the same...
....and they use diesel fuel (in tractors and equipment) to help make the ethanol.... that makes sence. not to mention all the other power that is used (electricity) that comes from coal burning power plants? how is all of this green? im confused.
Maddawg,
I think you should start filling up your M105 trailer with this stuff and see how everything all fits in there. then maybe try it out. see what your sustainability is with all that gear. It would be interesting. :grd:
I forgot to mention, that camo pattern came right from the TM. I am not artistic at all so i needed some guidelines to go by when i was painting it. its not exactly to the specs due to human error, but it still looks good. i was being real picky when i painted it and screwed up in a couple...
I edited post 189 to show how we straightened the box. there were a couple other spots we beat on and straightened out as much as we could before putting a skim coat of duraglass over the dents. I know it’s an army truck and you can still see some sand scratches, but it looks very very nice. it...
Thank you Jeff. I looked at it as it is a wounded steel soldier. yes i could have bought another truck and scrapped this one or parts it out, but it still had a good frame and running gear. I couldn’t just let it die. I tried to post as many pictures as i could to show everything i went through...
Thanks! Yea, there is not one thing i did not touch on the truck it seems. I know exactly what condition everything is in and now it looks as good on the outside as it does on the inside. I still have some little odds and ends to do that i want to get done, but they are small projects. Still...
