I had to order the starter bracket for the new style gear reduction starter and also ordered the gear reduction starter at the above mentioned site as my old starter ate the armature. :sad: The bolts are usually kept in stock at the Martin GMC dealer here in Lake Charles, got 2 off the shelf...

You can use one of your old bows for a pattern. Place it over a piece of 3/4" plywood, cut three of them out, screw them together and, voila, you have your form. After you steam your wood, place it over the form, and let it sit for a hour.

Pulled my starter out of the M1008 to have it checked out. Wont spin and no clicking either... When I go to hook the control wire back up to the solenoid, which stud do I use, "R" or "S"?

It does look like a casting mark, but you might want to clean the area real good and take another gander...
