    Extensive M108 repairs

If we put Kenny's and mine truck together, we would have a good one! Here is the thread after we decided to replace the drivetrain. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/deuce/34765-extensive-m108-repairs-part-2-a.html

    Pinion seal removal

Didn't want to pull the seal housing on the axle, so found out my sears 5-ton puller works great for pulling the seals out. Dennis

    Airpack rebuild (add pics-4/09)

Some pics from a recent rebuild. Was rebuilding one, and needed some parts so I grabbed the spare airpack. Check out the bore, a little rusty. Dennis

Haspin 2009: SS 10th Anniversary Rally June 10-14

Aberdeen for parts/restored vehicles. Haspin for offroading/camping.

    Extensive M108 repairs

Yep, that was the only thing holding the axles under the truck. Honed and rebuilt all the wheel cylinders. Some had rust pitting in them, but was where the piston rides, and not the seal. DOT 3. Used Kenny's infamous pressure bleeder, work like a charm, again! Took a nap in the...

    Torque rod/dogbone mod and removal

Didn't think about the off-camber idea. I believe it will be okay, but I'll put the truck thru some angles and see how much the torque rods twist. There is a gap under the plate, of 1/8-1/4 of an inch. I will get some pics up when I find the camera. Went out today and ran the truck up on...

    Extensive M108 repairs

And a BIG shout out to Dan, otherwise known as therainbowboxer on SS, for coming out and helping. Idea is for the truck to go to Findlay, Marango, and Haspin. Dennis

    Extensive M108 repairs

I guess I could call it M35 gasser repairs instead, since no repairs were performed/needed on the crane. This is all to get it road ready, its been a yard truck for too long. A lot of parts came off a parts truck(multi) I had that was in good shape. Start with the engine.(pun!) New belts...

    Torque rod/dogbone mod and removal

This is an idea I stole from the Canada deuces. Trimmed the rubber off the side of the torque rod ends, drilled and tapped 1/2-13 thread, then bolted on a plate with a spacer washer. Now if I lose a torque rod end, I don't lose an axle. I can get underneath with a prybar and see if any went bad...

    500 gallon tire?

    Yard roller! That is neat.

    Stuck in my yard....TWICE!!

Our trucks do good, but 20,000lb 5 ton on NDT's and soft ground is a problem. Hate it when crap goes wrong and your working under a deadline. Dennis

    winch un-stuck, fuel line needed

Well, I have two... but one is smashed flat, so no line for you! BWAHAHAHA! If you want the flat one, I can send it your way. Just have to splice in a new piece, it's flattened in straight spot. Dennis

    A Great Day

Why lucky? Because of RPMs? The gasser version of the M35 doesn't have a tach, haven't blown it up. Put the Multi in neutral and floor it, it is governed to 2700-2900rpms. Or maybe because I didn't get a speeding ticket.:-D

rear tcase PTO vs dual output trans PTO

Transmission PTO is always on with the clutch out, one direction, one speed,(other than more engine rpms.) and not rated for full horsepower of the engine, I think it's 30hp, but the actual figures are around. Plenty for a hydro winch. Transfer case PTO has the 5 foward, one reverse gear, of...

    winch un-stuck, fuel line needed

Ahh... I'll check the parts truck, see if it's any good, then see if I have another one in the parts pile. Just need one for the crane.

    winch un-stuck, fuel line needed

Didn't we take off a couple extras? Thought you ended up with one of those. Dennis

deuce pto to run a dump hoist

I think you did get the exact same hoist as mine. Almost think I'm looking at my truck in the pics.

deuce pto to run a dump hoist

The stock one normally only has one front output. A second rear output can be added. The second outputs are harder/more expensive to find.

    A Great Day

I was without a tach or speedometer for a while. Did finally get tired of it and fixed both.
