    M-gator battery and color question

The body panels are gloss when new. John Deere trail green is a perfect match for the steel parts. I have a couple of M-gators around here, I will try and get some pictures of the bed lift which is electric, as mentioned. The switch is the upper left one on the dash board. Unfortunately...

    M931A1 Gun Truck tribute, perhaps.

I've been thinking about how best to utilize my new acquisition. Its of course a tractor. I'm never going to tow 5th wheel trailers and the thing is not so good off-road with no weight on the rears. Also if I don't plan on 5th wheel trailers the class B commercial license is good to go. At...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Finished replacing all the spring brake diaphragms. Found the main culprit of air loss, one of the diaphragms was severely cracked. That fixed a lot of the air loss, truck is drivable now. Still wan to trace down any and all leaks. I want the air system top notch before I tear into it to...

    LED headlamp go bikini blink

I have had a number of those LED lights that did the blinking routine. They would do it on the workbench running off of a power supply. I like the light they put out, BUT those lights, like the pushbutton light switch are failure prone. I hope yours is just a loose wire...

Losing air pressure when emergency brake is on.

All done! with mixed results. I did get it down to a science, the last two took me about 15 minutes each. Builds pressure (as always) release the hand brake and the pressure drops a bit but the compressor keeps up and brings it back to cut off, then the cycle repeats, down to around 100psi...

Possible solution for dreaded engine stall when brakes are locked up.

No way! One of my first military vehicles back in the 70s was a GMC deuce with a Hydramatic with the "Garrison" wheels. I loved that truck. Sound of that six and (mine at least) had incredibly crisp shifts. Probably something wrong with it but it always chirped going into second.

Possible solution for dreaded engine stall when brakes are locked up.

Ordered. Probably cheaper than the "engineered" fix I was think of, LOL. Be safer and peace of mind.

Possible solution for dreaded engine stall when brakes are locked up.

I read through the MWO up in downloads, quite an installation. I see that kit you mention on the epay. I will contact him and see if that is a complete kit. He states its for all the trucks, but reading the instructions there is some picking and choosing between sub-kits. Thanks.

Possible solution for dreaded engine stall when brakes are locked up.

Possible solution for dreaded engine stall when brakes are locked up.

Well, I am an Engineer! Actually in my lifetime of driving I have locked the brakes a total of one time on pavement. Granted that's with hydraulic brakes. Ive driven air brakes a fair amount and there too have never locked them up. This is my 50th anniversary of driving, all without a single...

Possible solution for dreaded engine stall when brakes are locked up.

I've been reading as much as I can find on the fatal (literally) fault of the M939 series. This of course being the issue that an over-zealous application of the brakes stalls the engine and in doing so kills the power steering resulting in skids, crashes and roll-overs. I work in the field of...

    Modest reliable upgrades for NHC-250?

But I don't want a pickup truck engine in my 5 ton! Sorry, just had to say it. (Its all good). I will try and be disciplined about making real measurements.

    Finally restoring the M37

Mighty fine looking truck you have there!

    Modest reliable upgrades for NHC-250?

I looked up the dual line mod, seems like a weekend job, very straight forward. I have my baseline. My m37 kicks the 921s arse up to about 45. I know, that bar is pretty low ...

    Modest reliable upgrades for NHC-250?

I will check the modulator cable adjustments first. Ive fallen prey to not doing the obvious first before (du-Ohh). Are you saying the 8.3s (stock) are even worse? Mark

Overall gear ratios M939A0 and A1?

    Thank you!

Overall gear ratios M939A0 and A1?

Was there a change of overall gearing when the A1s came out to accommodate the 14.00 tires?
