Pics of the hose reel. Can't get shots of the winch I put in the bed, the back is full of tires and wheels. It's just a cheap hand winch that I removed the handle from and replaced with two nuts. Then I run the air hose into the bed and use my air gun to operate.
The hose reel is a Harbor...
Here's a couple quick pics with the bigger tires. Doesn't look much different to me. Rides and drives about the same. Speedo reads about 5 MPH lite as per my iPhone Speedo app. Can cruise at 55 at around 2200 or 2300ish now.
Blew a front axle seal AGAIN on the way home. Went to take it apart...
For the wipers - disconnect the feed hose and squirt air tool oil in. Run an air hose inside from your shop compressor (or your buddies). Put a blow nozzle on and blow air in to see if the do anything. As suggested earlier you might need to help them along. If that gets them going smoothly...
I had the same problem with mine. We had planned to put a bar in the back, but with the rusty roof we quickly switched plans. To repair the rust we unbolted the box from the frame, tied it off to a secure spot and drove away. Then we drove north to Hundy's and installed a clean M35A2 cargo bed...
It's not that I CAN'T do the tires myself - I've done plenty in my time in the Navy - lock ring, demountable flange, split rim, solid rim, etc. I'm not working at a facility right now that has the tools (and cage) and I don't own the correct tools. I suppose I could have bought the tools and...
Just dropped it off at Parkhouse Tire is sunny San Diego. A nice 65 mile drive. I'll pick it up sometime Tuesday. Trip home should be a little farther away from recline at 55.
I paid 1390 out the door with GL fees and tax. Needed two new batteries to start and misc fluids topped of to get her home. Less than 100 for registration, 225 a year insurance.
109 box was rusty, I bought a cargo bed, troop seats and bows from Hundy, but selling parts off the M109 box paid...
I would say the system replacement set up is just as easy if not easier to install IMHO. You simply disconnect two lines (input and output) and remove the three bolts holding everything to the truck.
Then you install it in the exact same spot using the same three bolts. Reconnect the two...
I have a complete set from Westfolk. My primary has a drain. I'm told I can get secondarys with a drain, but haven't looked. The primary filter from Westfolk is not an adapter plate, but a complete conversion - the same as many folks here have put together themselves and posted about. If you go...
I've only had plates on one trailer ever. That was a brand new 18 foot car trailer. Every other trailer I have just towed. If you stay in the right lanes, don't speed and don't cause problems odds of never getting stopped are pretty good.
Of course this is in CA, your laws/law enforcement...
Agreed. I'm a highly trained heavy equipment mechanic (as per the Navy, not me) and I have done plenty of tires in my 25+ years. I don't have the tools and my back ain't what it used to be. The 5 ton tire/rims are already loaded in the back and I'm going to drive it in and pick it up when done.
After Phil put his monster tires on his 5 ton, I asked him what he was going to do with the 10 leftover 11.00 x 20s. "Give them to you, I guess" was the reply. And they are now loaded in the bed of my deuce, awaiting installation. Cheapest price I have found so far is 300 dollars to dismount...
Mine used to do the same thing because the primary filter would work itself loose a little bit. I installed a spin on from Westfolk and it's never had a problem since.
