Good to hear that you're OK, being without power sure sucks though...probably have enough water standing in low lying spots to take a bath though
We all love the old stuff! I used to have a 135 but sold it to a museum which ended up being pretty stupid on my part, now I can't find one around here that's worthy of restoring.
heck, I know plenty of people running the radials on the 8 bolt wheels with no problems so yeah you should be fine with Swampers on the 8 bolts. Who are you going to have re-center them, there's one company that specializes in doing just the Humvee rims, they have a website just can't remember...
I've had them come from DRMO with Jeep or Kaiser, and sometimes Kaiser-Jeep, just all depends on what the DRMO clown types in....always check your VIN numbers they have a habit of messing those up....course now we have GL instead of DRMO.....let's not even go there.....
8 bolts are cheap, you can probably find them used for like $35 each, that's what I sold my last set for, new ones usually see them for $50 ech. The 12 bolts are the expensive ones.
Take a 5/8 wrench, crack the injector line one at a time where it goes into the injector. May want to wrap a rag around the fitting so fuel doesn't spray everywhere. As you crack the lines the engine should run rough if the injector is good.
Sheesh some people are paranoid, reminds me of one night after a truck pull we stopped at Denny's...I still had my pit pass wristband on and pulled out my knife to cut it off...this girl a few tables over freaks and screams, "Oh my God he's going to slit his wrists"<img...
I've seen several things make them stick, such as improper adjustment, a broken spring, a cable that simply needed to be lubed, a kinked cable but 9 times out of 10 it's been the adjustment. Had ice freeze mine stuck in colorado one time.
Buddy of mine had a chick lift her top while driving past his deuce on Hwy. 99 in Stockton. I used to have them do that all the time with my old Ford show truck, unfortunately never in the deuce.
Primary fuel filter on the deuce is located on the passenger side just forward of the axle between the frame rail and engine block. It's kinda a PITA to get to.
I've been deailing with Alex for at least ten years now. What a great guy, #1 in my book for sure. Come to our fall meet in Gridley and you can meet him in person. He usually makes all of our CA and OR meets.
Even going singles, you still have the width of the bad, and don't forget the mirrors that stick out even further! The dropside bed is maybe an inch wider because of the hinges. Internally it's the same width.
It would be nice to know the true year, but for registration purposes, most people simply fill in the blank when the DMV clerk ain't lookin
Had one form 97 come with the Vin number typed in the year and the year typed in the VIN location...
