Could it be caused by the nut or studs being threads being worn? I wonder if replacing the lug nut with new ones might help.

I had to replace my oil pressure gauge. Got a new star replica from CSI.
Solution is to find some used radioactive gauges and replace. Serously find a part truck and pull replace the panel.
The brakes take preventitive care and a simple. Hard top, heater, and winch will add around 1,000 dollars.

If you want speed get a powerstroke. My 6.0 hauls and blows smoke on demand. Please no 6.0 jokes mine is a 2007 and runs great.

I agree with the post above, you need to inspect all components rebuild and replace. This is not going to be cheap by the way. Also, build a power bleeder to flush with DOT 5. Please don't drive the truck with no brakes you'll make the evening news. Then I will get calls and emails all day about...
I purchased one for my deuce but never installed it. Winters just seem to be mild here. I would only install if you have difficulty starting. I have not so far. Good batteries and my solargizer seem to do the trick for me.
I would do the following.
1. Check/replace fuse for in tank fuel pump
2. Replace fuel filters/gaskets
3. Confirm tank pump runs and bleed the fuel system of air from secondary and finail filter housing.
