I plan on doing a day trip Saturday. Arrive around 8-9:00 do some shopping and hang out leave around 4:00-5:00pm. Wish I could stay longer but I have to work. This will be my longest trip in the deuce so far. Little nervous.
Sure it not the short drive shaft between the transfer case and transmission? Those bolts come lose sometimes.
If it's coming from the wheel you'll have to pull the hubs to do an inspection.
Dug,
I would have done the same thing. That was an excellent price and I think you made a wise decision. I paid $40 to replace a tube on one of my wheels in Atlanta. $300/20 wheels = $15 each
I agree i would swap the axle shaft out first. Alot less work.
1. Jackup the side/remove wheel
2. Pull the flange off the wheel.
3. 3" socket remove outer nut
4. Bend locking washer and remove
5. Remove inner nut
6. Pull hub
7. Remove brake house, use starp rachect and move to the side
8. Pull...
Good Job,
So far its taken me 8 months to change the all the filter, change oils, flush brakes, and i still need to do the radiator work you have described.
Question do you really need the air compressor wrench?
I would be focused on the brake system. Replacing the lines, flush, and check the wheel cylinders. Airpack is probally going to be froze.
Change every fluid for sure. Heck I am doing that on mine anyway.
