A sad sign of the times

Another simple deterrent that doesn't go on the vehicle is motion lights all over the place. I have 1000W halogen lights on my house that come on and it turns my yard into daylight and my Deuce is parked well within the sensor range (neighbor has similar setup on his house so its double...

    Cold weather starting

You are cranking before activating the either correct? I used my either 2 weeks ago and nothing sound really out of place. None of that diesel pinging or whatever you want to call it when you use either on a diesel. Maybe its just the difference in my engine versus yours as you know no 2...

    Cold weather starting

10 degrees here yesterday and I decided to take my Deuce out for a maintenance drive (got the OK to do this from the PT). My Deuce is parked outside facing into the wind. With no block heaters or either used I cranked it for about 6 seconds and it started to come alive. It ran kind of funny...

Insurance and tagging questions for DE

My insurance agent was able to write a policy on mine thorough JC Whitney for $83 /year for full coverage. Same historic limitations that everyone else has but I have yet to see an officer even act like he's going to pull me over in my Deuce. My title here in MN is classified as "Military...

    Pull Starting The Deuce

On a couple of recoveries from Camp Dodge we had to pull start the trucks due to dead batteries. We had them in Low 3rd when pulling/pushing them and that seemed to work pretty good but it was spring/summer then.

    Deuce's In Minnesota

Agreed that we need to have a get together here in MN that is central as possible. Problem is who has the ground that we could do this on? Unfortunately I do not.

lets see your m35 in the snow pics! bobbed or stock lets see em

I would take my Deuce out but I'm not cleared with the doctors yet to do that kind of movements on the knee. I was going to take pics of the Deuce with all the snow on it but the 45mph winds blew all the snow off of it. How many wrecks did the 1" of snow cause for you USAFSS??????

    Installed remote brake reservoir today

Since you use the vent hole to now act as your filling point does the remote container vent like the MC did, or does it make the need for the venting go away? If you don't have a vent hooked up at all did you plug the vent line copper to prevent something from getting in there?

I didnt know where else to put this, military pickup question

Before you buy it or put a plow on it get underneath it and check the frame out. A plow is going to put a lot of stress on the frame and if its damaged/weak anywhere to the point that you can visually see it you might as well avoid it for plowing purposes.

question about the air hook ups on the rear

Just make sure the gladhand you get has the rubber bushing in it otherwise it won't be worth much.

    Is it worth it?

Just looking at the MN craigslist I see several people who have Deuces for sale in Eastern MN/Western WI. I don't know what part of the state you are from but there are much better options than this truck.

    Gas station procedures

The truck design as a whole is reliable but you have to remember that you're dealing with something that is probably 40 years old and hasn't been used much in the past couple of years. Do not be suprised if you have a few oil leaks start around seals after you drive it. Test the brakes before...
