Nate....
Tires.... with the 4.56 gears... the bigger you can fit the better
Shocks... Standard setup for same year 1 Ton Chevy
Trailer lighting... No converter needed, just wire for the pinout you need. Only thing in your 1008 that is 24v is the starter and glow plug systems.
Sure can!
Its pretty much a 'hook & go' scenario. I would remove the rear driveshaft from the axle connection, and tie it up. This keeps your transfercase fluid from leaking during your trip. Make sure your front hubs are unlocked. Hitch up the towbar, slap on some lights, and head out...
You have a glow plug system problem :-)
time to figure out where the problem exists. If you arent hearing hte solenoid (clunk), as well as the light isnt working, I would suspect the controller.
Find the blue wire on the solenoid. Using a jumper, connect that terminal to ground. see if it...
I dont think its a timing issue.
If it actually starts, runs for more than a couple 'sputters'.... its an air leak problem (or maybe bad fuel pump)
If it just sputters, stubmles but never 'actually' runs... its most likely a glow plug problem.
JAVA should not be required to view the TM PDF's. (it may be though for the menusystem at the top)
Its not a damaged PDF issue, its something with his browser & settings. Usually saving the file via a right click fixes it.
Please try IE and report back.
We will have a temporary server outage for about 10-15 minutes at 16:00 eastern today.
The data center is replacing the battery backup that the server is on.
RE: Re: RE: Help M1008 and M1009
Thank you Jeff, this is the first 'proof' I have seen of it.
From what I understand though, the Wellman 070 is a NON-swelling glow plug, and the 13g is not. I could be wrong, but this is what I have seen in my travels. This is why I lean towards the 070.
