I agree no radiation. Fear factor of radation is from the gauges.
I would love to see pic's of your truck from Jackson. I almost bought my truck from there.
That is a very good point. It's just the rust eaten through the frame and I notice half the shroud is missing.
Would be a good time to have the alternator rebuilt while the radiator is off though.
JCknife I be sending you a PM if forget how to put it all back together.
Must have had a good reason for selling. Hopefully you made some money and can move onto another MV.
I enjoy working on my truck. It help take my mind off other things.
Well, the support frame on my radiator is rusted:(. I knew it was a problem but was not on the top of my list till now. I have got the belts, thermostat, and need to order the hoses. Thought i would share.
Also, I found a fairly nice used radiator and plan to have it serviced. I have a feeling...
Any installation photo's i purchased a new air regulator last month. Popped the hood and found there completely different. I thinking i have the older version as well.
Changed the three fuel filters yet? If so you can do a search on how to turn up the fuel.
I have seen posts of engine failure occurring a 55 mph. I would keep it at 45-50.
I agree 2,300 for truck 500 shipping. Spent another 500 for tarps and troop seat. 400 parts radiator last month. Filter and fuilds 300, flat tire, sending units, oil gauge, data plates, tools.
5k is about normal.
40 year old 6x6 cost money to maintain and run.
When you opened the drain above the fuel filter did fuel come out and hit the ground? If no fuel then the tank pump is working.
If fuel there i would crank each injector lose. If no fuel there than injector pump.
All that said i would make sure the tank has clean diesel fuel in it.
I say go for it.
My concerns, would be cost to operate. It would suck to have the truck of yours dreams just sit because you can't afford to operate it.
