    First Recovery on Monday

What's rough on the body? Did you find it had more rust than expected. Mine needed some cleaning and I used BBQ grill spray paint to fix some area's. After I did that mine looked 10x better. Also replaced the top and troop seats. I need to take my air governor apart as well and clean. Was this...

Fuild on the tires could mean inner axle seal failure. If its gear lube you will need to replace the axle seals. This could be caused by a blocked axle vent. Hopefully you will have a friend to help remove the wheels and brake drums (there heavy). Good luck post some pictures of any problems.

    deuce air leak

I would take a bottle of soapy water and find out where it is coming from. Air escaping from the breather tube I can't explain.

Sounds like your covered. Take your time fixing the truck. I would focus on pm's, brakes, fuilds, belts, etc...and leave modifications for later. 650 miles is like 14-16 hours of driving. Your going to get a work out.

    "New" 1973 M35A2 w/M66

I would recommend changing your temp. sending unit first. If that fails replace the thermostat.

I'm happy now... brakes are nice.

Check the bolts holding the steering box. Mine were loose. I saw a section in the TM thats has step by step to adjust steering play. If you decide to go through this take some notes. This is on my to do list as well.

    Leak from the Bellhousing

I agree that oil leaking past the rear seal can cause the clutch to slip. I heard the same story from a Seabee next door. According to him driving a deuce above 50 mph will cause this problem. His solution was to spray brake cleaner on to the pressure plate to clean the oil residue off.

Engine Temp Gage stays at 0 (zero)

Replace the gauge and sending unit. That's what I do and it's worked every time.

    First Road Trip

Well, I carry almost every tool I own in mine. I even have an 8 ft ladder and creeper. Probally over kill, just don't want to be stuck in the side of the road. Spare filters and belts are a must. I have an quick connect air connection under the glove box for my impact gun.
