Rosewood, welcome to SteelSoldiers. If you dont already have them follow this link to get copies of all the Tech. Manuals you will need for that truck. The A3 TM's are about half way down.
JATONKA's M35 TM download page
Woah, got any proof of that? (saved GL lot description/ MVM printed ad)
I'd like to hear the explanation behind that one. How much time was it between the GL auction and the ad turning up in MVM?
Wow, now that I've had a good nights sleep, thats sounded pretty harsh. I appoligize to all a3 owners. Usually my "ugly a3" comments are followed by a . I have nothing against a3's or their owners. Its just that those trucks are not as asthetically pleasing as the a2's. Kind of like when...
I think he is asking if he has a flat can he install a tube in the spare in the field. Can he? I doubt it, well not very easily.
Take it to a shop and find out why its leaking down. Might be as simple as a loose valve core.
Its not the 45psi. It's the truck sitting in the yard on flat tires for months that are causing the tires to come apart.
If your fronts are flat when you go to recover the truck, change them out for tires from the rear that are not flat. Better to have a tire failer on the rear than on the...
Why do you people think that everyone of us that say that truck is f-ing ugly think we are jealous? Are we not entitled to our own opinion? I've got plenty of junk around my driveway to sell if I wanted an a3. I still dont want one of those butt ugly trucks. Jeeze I've seen at least 2 other...
No.
You would need to somehow disconect the pinion from the ring gear or ring gear from the spider gears in order to get a freewheeling diff without putting locking hubs on the ends of the axle shafts. ARB's (lockers in general) don't opperate that way.
This is what Westy is getting at when he says read the posts again.......
That quote was taken from this thread: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/deuce/53010-how-turn-up-fuel-pictures.html
Read that thread before you go messing with your FDC
Hmmm seems I need to find me a wrecker or a k-boom. ( I'm tired of doing that stuff the hardway anymore)
Thanks Chief. Never looked at it that way. I was just looking at sliding it in.
There really are no differences in deuces from year to year. Just model to model, like m35 M35a1/a2/a3. Some of the latemodel a2's got split brake systems but those were in the late 80's Theres no real difference from a M35a2 from the late 60's from one built in the mid 70's.
Sorry about that. I forgot the smiley (:-P)
If indeed it is a original deuce tractor it would be pretty easy to buy it and turn and sell or trade it off for a standard a2 if you just want something to bob.
This is what I would do.
Cut a 1.5" strip (blue in the pic) from front to back on the fender well. (on both fenders) Then cut the remaining piece loose from the floor and slide it out that 1.5" and weld it back in place then weld in a simple patch to the floor. Simple, no bends to make or...

There was a thread just the other day about no EUC's for trucks and some people were getting all excited about "no paper trail".............See I told you guys, do not count on the Fed. Gov. for anything consistently.
I wouldn't worry about changing the fluid just for the trip home. Inspect the fluid but no need to change it before you drive it home. Things I would worry about would be the brakes and the tires. If the either of the fronts are flat when you pick it up you need to swap them to the back and...
Whats are your plans for it? I need reverse gears for my spare 5ton trannys
Edit: By-the-way it does look like the 5ton trannys I have. (6453) but without looking at a tag I dont know how to tell between the 6352 and the 6453. Can you put it in 5th and spin the input and see if the output...
