    New pictures

I like the aftermarket steering wheel. I noticed it looks a little bit smaller than the stock one. I always wondered why the steering wheels in the cucv's sit so low or why the seats sit so high. Does the different size wheel make it more comfortable to drive for long periods in? Also I noticed...

Useing a different fuel filter base

I noticed that you live in Illinois where it gets pretty cold. Does that set up have a built in fuel heater?

How well do the brakes on your cucv work?

Yep I can confirm that. I just ran out in the garage and looked at the box. MC108145 is the number on the box.

How well do the brakes on your cucv work?

Been working on my brakes over the past couple of weeks and I almost have them working right. Unfortunately like Timber said I had to try more than one master cylinder. The first one I got from Napa was made in China and you guessed it. I couldn't even get it to work as good as the one that I...

    M-1028 air intake

I built up an intake useing a 6.5L air cleaner assembly and intake resonator that I got from the junk yard. I had to add in some heating duct pluming from the hardware store to make it a ram air though. Just type [my cucv ram-air project] into the search function on this site and it will take...

    Problem this morning, need help.

One time I was doing a motor swap on an older toyota truck and spilled coolant down the alternator. Long story short it burned out the diod and caused the alternator to try to turn by it's self even after I turned the truck off. And yep I could smell the thing cooking while the truck was sitting...

How well do the brakes on your cucv work?

I suspected that $35.00 for a master cylinder sounded awful good lol. Im gonna see if I can spare a couple bucks next week and pick one up. Hope I don't wind up having to get like 3 of those things to get somthing to work. Heck another quart of D.O.T. 5 will cost like $20.00 or $25.00 alone. If...

    Injector Pump repair

When you go to take the top cover off your injection pump what ever you do be carful with the three screws that hold the cover down. I broke one off a few days ago and couldn't even get it out with an easy out tool. I had to drill the entire broken screw out. That was an absolute nightmare.

How well do the brakes on your cucv work?

My power steering is pretty stiff when im sitting still but it doesn't seem to leak or squeal. You gotta be moving a little to get it to steer. And also I didn't realize that a new master cylinder was so inexpensive!!! Thats great news. But if it is my powersteering pump im pertty sure that will...

How well do the brakes on your cucv work?

Im pretty sure all the air is out of the lines. Me and my father both made extra sure of that because that is what we originally thought was wrong with it. And yeah that is exactly how it feels. Like there is air in the lines. It had crossed my mind that the master cylinder might be bad. Do you...

How well do the brakes on your cucv work?

Hello I just replaced the fluid in my master cylinder and bled all four brakes. I used D.O.T. 5 brake fluid and a mytivac bleeder. I was able to get all the old fluid and air out of the lines but it didn't really help too much. For some reason when I do a panic stop like when the light turns...

Broken screw in my injection pump cover help!!!

yep that did make a noticable difference all the way through the rpm range. My truck shifts through all the gears way to fast and ends up in 3rd at too low of a speed and has to chug for a couple seconds before it starts to feel real strong again. after I turned the pump up it doesn't matter. It...

anyone running 2.5t rocks under their CUCV?

Never heard of anyone putting anything less than 44"s on a pickup truck with rockwells. I'd say go ahead and put a huge lift on it since you are gonna use that type of axle. If you don't use enough lift a rockwell front axle will bust a hole in your oil pan or rip it off the motor. anyhow the...

    cucv engine idle

I just got done turning up the fuel delivery screw in my M1028 today and noticed that not only was it peppier but yep it is also louder and idles a little bit higher. Im guessing someone adjusted the injection pump on your M1010 to increase the output of the motor a little bit. Probly to make up...

Broken screw in my injection pump cover help!!!

Finally got the pump back together. first I tried the chizel thing with no luck. It just shaved off the small part of the screw that was sticking out of the pump. Next I tried to drill down into the screw and use the easy out tool. The small easy out tightened and threatened to break so I...

Broken screw in my injection pump cover help!!!

Im gonna start by trying to tap it loose with a small chizel like dilvoy said. If that fails then I'll just have to take my chances with the easy out tool. Im saving the easy out for last because the screw is so small that if the easy out breaks off in there it's imposible to drill out tool...

Broken screw in my injection pump cover help!!!

I took the top cover off of the injection pump on my M1028 today and one of the three screws that holds the top cover down broke off nearly flush with the pump housing. Has anyone elese had this happen or does anyone know of a way to get the broken off screw to come out. Im really in a mess with...

    LMC Truck vs. Classic Parts

I've used both classic and LMC over the years and never wound up with a bad part from either but I prefer classic just because I think they have a nicer catalog than LMC. I have also used J.C. Whitney as well and there was a problem with every single order I placed through them. I will never use...

    fuels

I use the Power Service Diesel Fuel Supplement +Cetane Booster year around. I don't measure it out like it says too I just dump a pretty good amount in. Likely more than it says too which doesn't hurt the truck at all just my wallet. Anyhow I do notice that the truck runs slightly better with...
