Man thats a heck of a job on the body paint!!! Looks REAL good. Love the black dashboard and door panels too. Im gettin ready to do my own dash and door panels black. Im probly gonna use krylon camo on the door panels but not sure what to use on the dash. Was wonderin what you used for that?
One thing I certianly can tell you is that the front springs are not 56" long. they should be 48" long and the rears should be 52" long. If you go to a spring shop and have them build you a set of stock replacements im guessing it will be alot cheaper than haveing the chevy dealer get them for...
That sounds awesome. I just got done putting a 16000 pound class 4 hitch on mine. Unfortunately there was alot of alteration involved to get the thing on. I didn't cut the shackle mounts or anything but I did have to cut the hitch mounts up a little. All in all it should still hold as much...
Looks really good[thumbzup] Did you build that yourself? I drive my 1028 with a contact body everywhere and always have to park way out at the end of pretty much every parking lot because it's imposible to see behind it to back up. Lol guess the flatbead takes care of that issue.
You should be good to run 1100X16s on the street and do some light wheeling too. I ran a set of 36X14.50-R15s on my civilian blazer for a couple years. I used that truck to commute from way out in the sticks all the way into the city every day with no major issues. You may want to get good at...
If you have to go through a yearly vehicle inspection in your state you probly wont be able to pass it with the batteries mounted in the passenger compartment.
Hey welcome to the site and yep this a good place to ask questions and find info about cucv related stuff. Im running 34X10.50-16 super swamper LTBs with no lift at all and NO FINDER TRIMMING either as you can see in my avatar/profile pic over to the left of this post. The truck still...
A battery seperator comes in handy too sometimes. I got one because I got so dang tired of haveing to disconect and reconect the batteries every time there is a chargeing issue. If you get one of these make sure your hood will clear it before you slam it shut though lol.
Im thinking I want to hook it into the drain plug on the engine and run it to the heater hose. Only problem is I don't really know where the drain plug is on my 6.2L.
I recently got a zerostart coolant heater/pump for my 1028 with 5/8" inlet and outlet nipples for hose to go to. My question is where to mount it and which part of the cooling system to hook it into?
The fuel heater keeps the fuel warm so that it will flow through the filter without fouling it with wax crystals. I just had a heck of a time wireing the fuel heater in on my racor spin on.
Been looking at tires on michelins website for my mud boggin truck lately and I found something interesting. Michelin makes a tractor type tire called the xm47 that is rated at 55mph. They call it a highspeed tractor tire and say that it will run that fast for extended periods over pavement. I...
Thats what I call a utility vehicle!!!Im in the process of building up my contact maintenance truck and hope to get it loaded like that some day. I will be useing it as a recovery vehicle, tool and parts carrier, and possibly a tow vehicle some day when I turbo it up. Im building it to support my...
Wow a NEW 6.5L. I'd call that a PLEASN'T surprise:-D Can't believe whoever sold you that didn't use the new more powerful engine swap angle to ask an outlandish price for it. Where did you get it from??? And also I agree with Westech a stock cucv radiator will cool the 6.5L NTD just fine.
Man out here where I live the cops ticket those low-rider and import tuner cars all the time for having their neons on. I bet if one of you guys drove by with your deuce lit up like that it would cause the officer to just have a heart attack right there in his squad car:razz:
