    M1008 Tires

Hey welcom to the site. I am running 34x10.50-16' super swamper LTB's on the stock rims that came with the truck. I didn't have to lift the suspension OR DO ANY FENDER TRIMMING!!! They clear with plenty of room. When I measured them they are more like 33 1/2 or so inches tall. Any how here's a...

    Ram Air for CUCV?

I've got a home made ram air on my M1028. Just use the search function and type in cucv ram-air. It brought up 3 results when I typed it in just a minute ago. Make sure you put the dash in there when you type ram-air though. Go to the one posted by jimmy-90 aka me. It has a write up with pics.

What's the best step for the M1009?

You could fab up or buy a set of rock sliders that bolt or weld to the frame and go about mounting a step to one or both of them. Im bettin that would look purdy tough on a lifted M1009!!!

witch to build? M1008 and M1028

I wouldn't swap axles from one truck to the other. Just weld the spiders in your front end if it is going to be an off-road beater.

    Brushguard Weight?

The brushguard alone is not that heavy....maby 45 or 55lbs. When I took my front bumper and brushguard off combined they didn't feel like they quite weighed 100lbs. But it felt close though. Shouldn't be heavy enough to effect the truck in any way.

    To lift a M1009

Call off road design/ORD. is the best advice I can give anyone who is lookin to lift a full size chevy in the 3-4" range....They also won't be utterly lost or not know what you are talking about when you say it's for a M1009 CUCV.

    Cracked np 208

If thats your lifted M1009 in the pic I'd say go ahead and see if you can find a deal on a np205 for it. Then you can run a longer driveshaft with a less harsh angle. Plus if you wanted to spring for twin sticks that would always be an option too.

    new camo paint job

I see you've painted the story of the whole hopi prophecy on your truck. Never seen that on a vehicle before. I can hear the music to the movie KOYAANISQATSI just from looking at it. Based on what you have painted on your truck you would probly like that movie alot. Had to order my copy online...

Angle grinder with preperation/cleaning disks and then rust bullet for the floorboards and heavy metal. I haven't put any rust bullet on the outer body though. Blacksmoking a 6.2

Turning that screw up just a little bit will make it run stronger or at least make it get louder and you may see a LITTLE black smoke at full throtle or under a heavy load.... Turning it up untill it rolls-coal like a re-tuned cummins or anything even close to that will definately kill it...

    CUCV Insurance

Did you guys tell your insurance companies that you needed a policy for a surplus military vehicle or did you just say it was for a c/k 30 or a K5 blazer and leave out the M1008, 1009 or 1028 part???????

low budget upgrades and tuning help

Another inexpensive mod worth mentioning would be to port and polish your manifold. It's a decent amount of work but it only costs as much as a set of manifold gaskets. That is if you have an air or moto tool to do it with. I would recomend doing that if you are posibly going to turn your...

    Tire stuck

Glad you got the thing off. Figured I'd put up a post about how I got mine off when it rusted solid like that. I wound up useing the jack that came with the truck to push it off. I ran it out a ways and put the base aginst the frame and a block of wood aginst the tire/rim. I had to easily put...
