I have picked up two MVs that I had no idea if they would run or not, but suspected they would since they were driven onto the lot. To cover my bases, I asked the GL reps at the two sites for a recommendation on a wrecker service. I called and worked out an arrangement with the wrecker...
I think using a Deuce fuel tank on the M116A2 trailer is a good idea. I have one caveat. The Deuce fuel tank is approximately 39-3/4 long X 15-3/4 high X 21-3/4 deep. Even if you mount the deuce tank on the floor of the trailer and all the way to the right on the battery side, the tank will...
In the past I've seen some good deals on E-bay for take-offs. I was able to get an NOS coiled feed wire for the convoy beacon on my M35A2 from E-bay. Perfect replacement. I haven't looked recently. I was lucky, my A2 came with a beacon.
I went through Basic at Ft Knox in starting in January 1970 I was also in the old wooden barracks (D-17-5)). For 11D AIT at Knox I was in the Disney barracks - a whole lot nicer. (D-5R-2). Some things you never forget.
Thanks for the pictures. Brings back memories of Basic and AIT (11D) at Fort Knox in 1970. I had to pull guard and fire duty many a night at the Patton Museum in winter. Nothing worse than shoveling coal in the freezing cold at 0200. They had a lot of neat stuff at the museum and elsewhere...
I would recommend draining and thoroughly cleaning the tank and fuel lines. Replace the primary filter and replace the secondaries again, even though you already have once. Make sure you get all the air out. This may or may not fix your problem, but should be done in any case if your fuel was...
I have no idea what the numbers on your glovebox mean, but my A3 has similar numbers on the inside of the glovebox. I did have legible bumper numbers, however.
I for one have made a donation to the Gene Vance Jr Foundation and did not mention SS. I didn't really think about it. To be sure, future donations will include the project.
That makes a lot of sense and explains why I get so much more mileage with my empty A2. I'm still not sure why I get so much less with my empty A3 than some others do. When the weather improves, I'll go through the truck and see if I can find the cause.
Thanks for posting that chart. I get considerably more than the 5.15 - 6.18 mpg shown in the chart. I'm almost getting twice that. I know my speedometer is reading correctly because I've compared it to my GPS. Almost everyone I've heard from gets better than those numbers. When I first got...
Is there something on the engine that is painted green that can easily be removed and taken to a paint shop and scanned? Or a small chip of paint that can be scanned? Once you know the color you can get some mixed and loaded into rattle cans or use a sprayer.
