There are normally a lot of companies that will deliver offroad diesel to your home, which saves you the problem of handling 55-gallon drums. Even 16 gallon drums are quite heavy.
I now have both an A2 and an A3 I just acquired and I have to admit I don't know which one I like the most. I like them both - they are completely different vehicles.
Because diesel fuel doesn't last more than about two years without degrading, I use the fuel tanks on my M35A2 and newly acquired M35A3 deuces, along with two John Deere tractors for fuel storage. I always keep them topped off. My MEP-003A came with the auxillliary hose and bung hole adapter...
I don't think they can legally charge you for obstructing traffic. I believe federal regulations mandates a minimum of 45 mph on all interstates and this is doable in a stock A3 without overspeeding the engine in most situations. I have never heard of a minimum speed on state highways, but I...
I've seen a lot of A3s with the green engines, with relatively low miles. I find it hard to believe that there have been that many failures of Cat engines to account for all the green engines.
I think you may have a bad volt meter. You have replaced and checked so many things, there isn't much left. I had another vehicle that I bought for a really cheap price because the volt meter stayed almost pegged all the time, although the measured voltage was within specs. I repaced the volt...
The brakes are all free, so that isn't an issue. One difference was the cargo cover. My A2 has a cargo cover on it and the A3 has only the bows. I would have thought a cargo cover would have added more drag, but who knows? I plan to change the fluid in the Allison, but I wouldn't expect that...
I recently recovered an M35A3 from Fort McCoy and completed a 1000+ mile trip home, most of it on the expressway. My newly acquired A3 averaged 6.37 MPG over the whole trip.
I have driven my 1969 Kaiser Jeep Hercules LDT with D turbo several thousand miles since I recovered it. I currently...
Not having a baffle inside the tank would make cleaning the tank much easier! Mine had the baffle and it was a bear. Good idea using the xylene. I'll remember that for next time, although I hope there isn't a next time.
I've also found that putting a thin film of silicone grease on the seals and the covers makes them much easier to install and remove and eliminates a lot of friction between the bare steel and the seal. I'm not sure if this is recommended, but it works for me.
I agree, I've had a couple sets of Michelin tires on cars in the past that experienced severe cracking on the sidewalls and I had to replace them with a lot of tread left. However, the Michelin X 14.5X20R radials on my A3 show zero signs of cracking or deterioration from the outside, including...
I need some help identifying the year of manufacture for my M35A3W/W. It was sold as a 1993, but the two rear axles have 01/98 date tags. The front axle has a 10/97 date tag, as does the winch hydraulic unit.
A. Serial Number: 503726
B. Registration Number: NKOHM6 or NK0HM6 (Not sure if 3rd...
You can correct the year on your title with the state. It normally isn't that difficult. I would recommend doing it. I think 53 is a good target on the CTIS. The wheels are rated at a max of 60 psi and any higher you are getting fairly close to the limit on the wheels.
