Well, got some simple fixes done to the deuce.
1. Drive link bolts between the transfer and transmission were lose. Put the TC in nertural, used 2 wrenchs 3/4" tightened it
up.
2. Transmission filled to hole, drained, and refilled
to one kuncle. FYI a 1/2 breaker bar non racheting wrench works...
I don't understand why she would say no. If you want it and you can afford it there should not be a problem.
I have never had to hide things from my wife. Now if she is upset because you are planning to chop it up I understand.
Good luck
Local haha funny.....
Remeber Atlanta Traffic is terrible. After, 3:00 PM 285 will turn into a parking lot. You need to plan on being north of Atlanta by then. If you need directions sned me a pm and i will give you my cell. Hate to post it on the intornat. DO NOT PLAN ON FILLING UP once your...
Mine does it at first, the idles the truck back smoothly. I think engaging the engine at idle may be the reason.
So.......still have Deuce fever. Thought you were set on that jeep(CJ4).
Joe,
I had a bad radiator cap that spit coolant out. It got trapped on top of the raditor. I would order a new cap from a dealer. I alittle tire shine will make that CARC look new.
Wish I lived closer and could help. Thanks for the help last year . I have a napa radiator cap if you want...
Paul,
It's hard to read your post FYI.
I found that buying private party or from a dealer was expensive. However, the buying from GL it took me almost three months to get all the papaer work in and back approved. They held my money and truck the entire time. The process was fruastrating but...
Don't rush into any thing, there is risk associated with buying from GL. I got lucky pure and simple. If you have never owned a deuce doing a recovery is not the time to learn.
I will admit I am not fan of chopping these trucks up. However, the man does good work and adds a positive light to the hobby[thumbzup]....so....if he wants to turn make a limo with a hot tub i'll just smile and shake my head.
I never thought about what the price would be in another 10-15...
I say take your time save your money and keep checking the GL site. Preview, Preview, and Preview
Owning a deuce is a life sytle, they love fuel, time, labor, and money. Your happy one then the next your axle seals are leaking.
Wow, it does have a bid.
I was thinking that it would be a hard sell. At 50k you are going into a nice Humvee.
I agree the work looks. However, if I was told a Deuce and a half sold for 55k it would be hard to believe.
So did you buy it?
The paint looks good. For 6k I hope you drove and verified the drescripition. Only thing I saw was that the hubs were not flipped on the rear end.
I agree with BKubu, you could buy a complete truck M35A2 from GL.
Things i did not like
Gas Engine
Sprag
No bed probally was a tanker they took off
Now if you like the older trucks I would go for it.
I would double check everything on your truck to be on the safe side. There are parts missing blinkers, CTIS cover, and the door was swapped. Could have been a parts truck.
