This switch/lever is still available from GM. Cost $$$. . Dorman does not make a lever w/o pulse wipers. Sorry to say called Dorman today. I need one so I ordered a new A C Delco. NOT Genuine GM. But I ordered it from a GM dealer because my cost was less. Have a great day. Who would have...
The one over behind the rear battery on the heater box. That needs a good cleaning and some dielectric grease. That can get pretty rough out there under he hood. Gently pry the connection plug apart and remove the resistor. Clean it all up and reinstall. Good Luck. Report back.
Last time I mentioned using straight diesel fuel here I was verbally abused. No I never added anything but a little ATF a few times. That was ineffective so I discontinued that also. And if you have a dripping injection pump fix the leak. Not sure how the 2 correlate. Adding 2 stroke oil is a...
Because it can. I am not sure. But I run the 13 G in no less then 20 units of mine, company and others around the country. Nothing is infallible. But if it works for you that's all that matters.
I am surprised that you have 60G. I have never used anything but the stock AC Delco 13G. I have had one tip failure in over 20 years. It was at highway speed and it rattled a bit and then just went away. The next morning in August NO cold start. Found the problem. Broken tip just like you shown...
Splice the new wires. The old contacts were part of the problem. A big part. Just use solderless heat shrink butt connectors. All will be well. Use a bit of Dielectric grease on the plug and resistor /switch side under hood. Now go under the hood and do a good cleaning of the resistor...
After I had supper I went down to the shop and try and get some bonus points. I looked around and found a set of OEM lockouts that I had stored in a crate of lock out parts. I removed them from the box. They were all clean and ready to go into service. So I installed the OEM lock out and that...
Quick and easy way is to just park it in with a newer chipped key vehicle. Tight against the barn and the Cadillac parked up against the CUCV. But I agree. It could still be air lifted. And with Indiantown Gap so close I am in a constant state of distress. I hear choppers day and night. I have...
These are the pair of Dorman oil cooler lines I purchased at Autozone. Less the $70. out the door. I give this set of oil cooler lines an A+ for fit and ease of installation. I installed a lot of these lines. And the last set I tried to install were NAPA branded. No fit and the outlet side was...
An hour after it was at the alignment shop I received a phone call. The man at the shop said a man was inquiring about the truck. He ask if he could give the guy my number. I said sure. The man called me and said he was interested. Asked what I wanted for it. I gave him a Buy it Now price he...
Sir that is a common problem. It comes from the connection being a bit loose. It is fairly easy to replace the entire blower harness. I know the one GM serviced was a PITA. it was a plug with all white wires that needed butt/soldered together to the old harness. I recall a lot of GM vehicles...
I have been slacking. Digging sludge/mud out of the dry dams at the plant. Not light hearted work. I purchased a set of Dorman oil cooler lines at Autozone. They were available in 1 day and I wanted to give them a try again. I have a friend that talked me into giving them a try. What do I have...
Gaskets on pump. I take it as you have changed the throttle shaft O rings???. If so did you get the spring back in place correctly when you removed the throttle shaft and replaced the top cover?
one What is the general consensus on oil cooler lines? Which ones do you purchase made up and put on? I mean with the engine still in the truck and not have to reform the piping to fit. I picked up a set of NAPA today. They do not even start on the fitting in the block. I removed a fitting from...
I just broke for lunch. I have been out in the barn working on Mr. Rusty. The horror is unreal. I can do it is all I keep saying. So far so good. A bite to eat and back at it. I will post pictures after 5 when I finish for the day. I don't think finish the job but finish for the day. I made some...
Think real hard before you do the B/O light hole as a turn indicator. From a safety point of view. Can people see that small light blinking? NO. Can it cause and accident? Yes. Why? Why risk life and limb? I tried it once. I went and got a grille from a quad headlamp system and that was the...
Today after a day of convalescing I had the Easter find taken to the alignment shop. As of now no word has been heard from them. Oh well tired of having it around me all the time anymore anyway. Out of site out of mind. I have a million other things to do. Hoping for dry weather tomorrow. The...
