Just did my SF97 online, a lot easier than the fax method. When I received my SF97 back the other day there was a memo with it stating that all SF's are now to be done online.
Does it require an EUC?
Ok, now to the real question; was the sight off a straight 60 or an A1/3 variant.
OPCOM, the 60 slick and 60A1 didn't have the laser rangefinders if I am correct. Just the A3 when it got the ruby laser and ballistics computer.
Could be something flexing/moving due to the turn. If there is a pin broken off (or multiples) it may be riding fine until you can it to shift due to inertia. Just a thought......
If you purchased the truck from GL then do not take anything for granted as far as operational status. If its a private purchase then you should be OK. If the truck runs when you get there do the 2 foot to the floor brake test before you drive it anywhere. There was a recent post where a SS...
Sounds like you had an old M35 w/out turbo that had been upgraded to the A2 status. The ones w/out turbo had the exhaust coming out beside the right side duals.
Thats how a lot of stuff gets demilled. Some of the tanks/halftracks we've restored it looks like all they did was unhooked the hard connections (power pack mounts/drivetrain), hooked up a crane to lift things out and just started pulling until whatever it was came free. Kind of a crappy way...
Good design also, they are now restarting production of the design under the designation M1117. Its got improvements over the M706/V100 but very close to original design.
Image online is too big to upload so here is a link to it...
This is the one from our museum that actually served in Vietnam. It struck a land mine with the front passenger side tire which blew that side of the suspension off. There is a little crack in the armor just above the tire well, but other than that you can't tell it was involved in an explosion.
Marine,
That AA piece is huge. Its built on a M48A5 chassis and weighs as much or more than an Abrams. When that piece was brought to us the tractor/trailer combo had 18 axels. To get into the drivers seat (if the hatch is closed) you have to climb clear up top into the gunners station...
The SF97 is provided by GL not the DOT of your state. I am assuming that you got your Deuce off of GL, if not most of the post won't relate anyway :-D. I called my state DOT and found out that yes it is required that I have a form like this before they will title anything. I do not know about...
All I can say is that you've come to the right place to get help with your Deuce. And yes, a lot of people on this site have purchased a Deuce off an auction.
