I'm having a heck of a time just getting 1 Deuce, much less 8. Did get a trailer though so my collection has started. Anyone want to lend me some money for a Deuce??????? :-D
This being said the M60 is no slouch of a tank; especially if it is the A3 variant. It won't take the hits of an M1A2 will, but if the crew is good and uses good tactics it will still put up one hell of a fight. Just ask Turkey, the M60 is their main tank. No tank will stand up against an...
Where is the snow at for you to play in????? It must not be to you guys yet. Great job on the vehicle, keep it up guys.
Holy crap, started reading the thread that you gave the link to and started thinking that some people just should keep their opinions to themselves. Here you are taking an...
Sorry for taking the thread off target, but do any of you guys restoring these M75's have a source for some track pads? I know of a M75, M41 and M42 that could use some new pads and they all use the same one. :-D
On top of what Bighurt has said they basically take #2 diesel and remove a big portion of the wax from the mixture for cold weather use. The wax is what causes the fuel to gel up. I'm sure there are more indepth details than that, but thats the 50,000 ft. level.
I guess all I was trying to say in regards to running a mix rather than straight #1 is that if you run straight #1 a lot of the lubrication is removed in the form of wax to prevent gelling. You can run straigth #1, I do agree with that but I would put an additive or something to give the fuel a...
Out at the museum we run the mixed stuff that we can get at most stations. I haven't noticed too much of a difference running the ULSD (which doesn't burn worth crap), but we don't put the artifacts through much of a workout when we do use them.
As far as what people put in their MV's, I...
You're still getting straight #2 in ND? By law here in MN they have to start mixing in Octoober I believe. No matter what the year is if you're running #2 straight in below zero weather its going to have issues; something about injectors/pumps not wanting to deal with solids. Going to...
Here's how you straighten it.....
1. Get 2 Wreckers or Deuces w/ winches (or ask a couple SS members for a MV loan)
2. Hook one winch to the Front, other to the back with.
3. Engage winches....
Glad your wife is Ok, mine got hit from behind on Monday as well. Stupid lady on the...
I pull my M105 around my yard with my Arctic Cat 650. I can push it across the road by hand, all you need to do is lift the jack off the ground when turning it. I pull it with a F350 and have no issues with stopping even with 2000lb load in it. Empty weight is 2720lbs.
Its not the pulling that you have to worry about, its stopping ability. A M101 weighs around 1700lbs which I have to guess is more than those utility trailers you have been pulling. I would say that the S10 may be a little light in the braking department for this trailer.
It looks like its trashed so scammers think they can get away with it. The red is actually a primer that we've sprayed it with. The tank is in very good shape actually. Better than some things that I've seen restored before.
Not a problem. Let me know if you have any more questions about it. My bet is a scam but if you want I can ask the museum director if he has heard anything about this leaving our inventory.
That exact picture is the M26 Pershing currently located at the Fort Snelling Military Museum in Minnesota. Sending a PM.....
