Gl-1 is NOT the best lube for the tranny and transfer case. It is a very primitive lubricant which is why it is so hard to find. Almost nothing uses it anymore. Spicer specified 30wt non detergent motor oil. 30, 40, 50wt are all acceptable depending on your average ambient temperature. Gl-5...
Depends on whether you want a digital readout or analog needle. I prefer digital since I'm going to be tuning and testing till I'm happy with the power but egt's remain at safe levels. I'm going with the aubriens unit. Its around $70-80 if I remember correctly.
Find someone who builds rock crawlers with the Rockwell axles. They sometimes have better prices on lockout hubs and diff lockers than the surplus dealers. Also cash seems to help reduce the price.....don't know why.
I know the difference between a bobber with 14.00-20's with the fuel turned up and my 6x6 on 9.00-20's is night and day. My fuel is not turned up. Waiting for pyrometer and my 395's for that. But rest assured it WILL happen. The power difference is impressive. Especially, with a bobber that...
I'm inclined to agree with you to an extent. The search feature is helpful and underutilized however the titling of threads can seriously use some work.
I have a Chevy Kodiak with a 8.1L (496) with a 6 speed Eaton manual. With my drilling rig mounted on the back this truck tips the scales at just shy of 24,000 pounds. I can tell you right now if your expecting mind blowing power....your barking up the wrong tree. It does have considerably more...
I don't get the need for tap talk. I upload pictures just fine from my android using my browser. Just tap manage attachments and upload directly from my phones photo gallery.
Also the search function on this forum can be of great use.
Which TM specifically covers the adjustment of the oil pressure regulator? I have yet to figure out exactly how to navigate them. I found the trouble shooting guide but that's as far as I got.
To be honest I don't believe this is the case. We don't know what has happened or been done to these trucks prior to us owning them. Now I'm not saying its a great idea to run an engine at red line all of the time but they govern these engines for a reason. Most of our trucks engines have...
Injector pumps and hydraulic heads are not cheaper than a tank of diesel. The stock fuel filters are at best 12 micron and the spin on conversion kits are at best 10 micron. This is NOT good enough to just dump dirty fuel in the tank and go. The trouble with alternative fuels is the time it...
I don't drive mine every day but there are a few members on here that drive the crap out of their a2's with minimal problems. I would imagine that cat motor is considerably more reliable than the multi fuel and the Allison transmission is pretty proven. I say drive it till the wheels fall off...
