That matches the sellers story on her... I'll search for info on M35 firetruck variants. Typical accessories and whatnot.
Thanks to all you guys. The info here is about the only thing making me feel like getting this truck is something I can do.
Class 530B
REO M44
SN# 132420
11x20 tires
From my searches, I think this is a Deuce, on 11x20 tires that was originally a tanker or similar specialty truck. It should be an LDT... no idea about what t-case or other accessories.
Am I right?
Well, I've got 3-4 other options, but these guys are local. I'm going on Friday to test drive a couple of M35A2s and see what they look like. I have the cash, if they have the truck. They are actually almost neighbors to my extended family, so I will give them a shot before passing judgement...
I have $3000 to buy a toy... I will find one that runs, and can be gotten to Kalamazoo Michigan for that ballpark. I'm not picky, just impatient.
I'm pretty certain one of these is a 5ton... the manure tanker... and I think I can get it for <$2000. It's in the thumb, so I'll keep on him for...
I would take you up on that in a heartbeat if I was closer. I can't wait for the next get together around here... especially if I a have a drivable rig!:driver:
My first M35A2 purchase is becoming a reality! I have a test drive scheduled for Fri at 1pm here in Kalamazoo, and I'm talking to some farmers who have a truck for sale out in the Saginaw area. The farmer doesn't know what kind of 6x6 it is, but they bought it years ago from a fire department...
Short answer: Yes, after you filter it and mix it to thin it a bit.
The place to look is the "Alternative fuel" forum. There is more info waiting for you there than you can get from one thread. It's a common topic.
A better way to search is use the site "Steelsoldiers" as a term in a google...
I have a tiny gasoline generator that runs a sump pump, furnace, etc for power outages... one at a time... but not the freezers and not a chance of running the 110/20amp for my little wire welder or air compressor. I was thinking about mobile use as well as being able to run the freezers, well...
Check the description again, he did that too.
Think about a dump valve "t" and just run a line out for oil changes. No need to crawl under the truck at all... heck, just run it into the fuel tank directly!
That could be a quick way to build one for a car as well. Might try a smaller motor...
I have a powerful love for the N9M at Chino... I was around all of the Grumman "Cats", as well as various other WWII aircraft in the 90's and I got to be a bit of a round motor snob. I keep looking at Vampires, Mig 15's, and thinking how cheap they are to buy, and how expensive they are to feed...
Great thread! Is it possible to run a generator on one PTO and a hydraulic pump on the other? I'm thinking about running standard Ag fittings to the front and rear to power woodsplitters, winches and the like, but being able to use the generator to power the house/air compressor or welder. I'm...
Worst... unless I was told I had to get x number off the lot by a certain time and the running ones were the only way to do that while I patched together the non-runners/junk. But that really gives me hope for the quality. The ones at my local dealer look like they have been parked for 20 years...
